Nairobi is the capital and the largest city of Kenya, and is known as the safari capital of Africa. Nairobi is truly a cosmopolitan and multicultural city. This is a land of great contrasts where race, tribe and origin all combine to create a unique Nairobian character.

The 1985 romantic drama film "Out of Africa" is perhaps the most famous book and film set in Nairobi. The book was written by Karen Blixen and is her fascinating account of living in Kenya from 1917 to 1931.

The most famous tourist attraction here is the Nairobi National Park. The national park is unique in being the only game reserve of this size to border a capital city. The park includes lions, giraffes, black rhinos, and is home to over 400 species of birds. The Nairobi Safari Walk is a major attraction to the Nairobi National Park, offering a rare on-foot wildlife experience.

There are numerous must see attractions, one of them being The Fourteen Falls waterfalls at Thika - with a spectacular 27 metre drop. There are museums, monuments, cathedrals, parks and gardens, shopping malls, theatres and the largest ice rink in Africa.
