The Woodsman on Main Street, Sabie boasts panoramic views perched atop a mountainside. Serving breakfast and light meals through out the day, diners soak up local, Greek and Cypriot flavours, faithfully created to authentic recipes. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes starting with scrumptious breakfasts such as continental with muffins, honey, and maple syrup or jam and light meals. Hearty servings of dishes are available infused with Greek flare. Try traditional rump or fillet steak and ribs, arni kleftiko (lamb on the bone, seasoned with herbs), the Woodsman platter, grilled kingklip and kalamarakia (grilled calamari with lemon, herbs and spices served with Greek rice and vegetables). Local trout is served fresh and smoked and Ostrich fillet and venison dishes offer alternate tastes. Starters range from sikotakia (chicken livers with origanum and fresh lemon juice) and spanakopita (spinach wrapped in phylo pastry). The dessert menu is a must with heavenly baklava, halva ice cream and Greek kisses. The Woodsman offers fantastic Greek dishes with a hint of local flare in relaxed surroundings, perfect for any occasion.
