The lodge is centrally situated in the picturesque town of Montagu. It consists of a 100 year old Victorian house with large comfortable rooms; a coach house converted into a quaint self-catering apartment full of character and an additional self-catering apartment ideal for couple or small groups of friends. The lodge consists of three double/twin rooms all en-suite, self-catering family cottage, self-catering apartment, sparkling swimming pool and an ample off street parking.

Koo Karoo Guest Lodge offers: Restaurants and all other amenities are within easy walking distance, pool situated in the secluded garden, patio overlooking the garden and a braai/barbecue area available to all guests.

Montagu is located on the famous Route 62 which provides a scenic alternative for travellers between Cape Town and the Garden Route. Montagu is a peaceful town steeped in history and is renowned for its spectacular rock formations, fruit orchards, vineyards and healing hot springs. There are also attractive hiking trails, wonderful rock climbing sites and a nature garden.

Two museums reflect the history of the vicinity and an herb garden contains a large number of medicinal plants found in the area. Montagu is known for its muscatel wine and four wine cellars in and around the town produces an assortment of excellent wines.

The tractor ride to the top of the Langeberg outside the town is an unforgettable experience. The healthy, unpolluted, dry air makes for a much sought after climate. The Koo Valley, known for its fresh and dried fruit, is situated near the town. Montagu is only two hours' drive from Cape Town and within easy reach of the coast.

The thatch roof building offers four luxury en-suite rooms complete with air-conditioning/heating, satellite TVs, hairdryers, safes and tea trays. All rooms lead onto a courtyard, shaded by 100-year-old saffron pear trees and guests have access to a secluded garden and cool pool for those hot days, to relax and admire the surrounding mountains.

The infamous Simply Delicious restaurant offers tasty light lunches under old pear trees or fine dining in front of a roaring fireplace. While the pub and wine bar is a great place to meet for drinks and socialize over a great bottle of wine. We also cater for private functions, corporate getaways, team buildings and food and wine evenings.

The proprietors, Simon and Wendy, are becoming very well known for their hospitality and quality of food. They believe that it’s all about the food and will ensure your stay is not only a memorable one but a true gourmet experience.

We offer four beautifully styled, luxurious en-suite bedrooms, all with private vine-covered patios with views over the vineyards. Our rooms have been equipped with plush beds and luxurious linens. There are French-press coffee plungers with freshly ground coffee, a selection of teas and a honesty bar stocked with snacks and local wines for our guests. LCD TVs are also installed and come with DVD players, as well as a selection of DVDs. A DStv selected bouquet service is also available. A beautiful swimming pool is available for guests during the hotter periods of the year.

Montagu lies nestled between two beautiful mountain ranges and the village offers a perfect halfway stop between Cape Town and the Garden Route on the famous Route 62. A delicious breakfast is served in our Breakfast Room which overlooks the olive grove and stunning mountains. All of the rooms are en-suite, with a seating area, DStv Hospitality Bouquet, complimentary Wi-Fi, a hairdryer, heated towel rails, a tea and coffee tray, a free-standing fan or air-conditioning, fireplaces and electric blankets for the chilly winter evenings.

Four standard rooms offer queen-size beds and one room offers twin beds. The Queen bedroom has a Victorian bath and shower, while the remaining rooms have showers only. Located in our new wing are three beautifully appointed luxury rooms, where attention to detail is evident. Two of the rooms have queen-size extra-length beds and one room has extra-length twin beds. These rooms have front and rear entrances, a private patio and a spacious full bathroom with a large shower.
