The park is conveniently close and accessible to visitors from Gauteng and it is situated in a beautiful bushveld area close to Thabazimbe should you urgently need something. During our last visit we were camping and it is our opinion that the camping area and facilities are kept clean and in a satisfactory condition. Game viewing and birding in the park are excellent and one never knows what awaits you around the next corner. It was our experience, everytime we visited the park, that the park rules are adhered to which make the stay in this unspoiled area so enjoyable that we feel that it is a "must return to visit annually" experience. We have also stayed in the tented camp previously and the peace and quiet experienced at this venue overlooking the dam and the amazing sun sets are things we will forever cherish. Marakele is and will be on our ticklist of places we have to visit as regular as possible.

This is a lovely park. I love the idea of camping among the wildlife. The ablutions are clean and modern. In the open side of the park there is many wildlife to be seen. Here we saw both black and white rhino. Although we were told that the big five is to be seen in the closed park, after driving through if for more than five hours the only wild life that was seen was rooibok. We did see two buffalo fighting, but it was by accident as we turned off a path to one of the residents in the park by accident. When they saw the vehicle the disappeared among the bushes in a flash. I will recommend anyone that wishes to visit the park to go on the organised wildride a s I am sure that gamerangers know exactly where the wildlife is at all times. We did
