We are situated at Macaneta, 30 km north of Maputo in Mozambique. We are only 98km from the Lebombo border-post at Komatipoort. To reach Macaneta, you have to cross the river at Maraquenne with a Ferry- an experience by itself.

Come and experience the unspoiled and uncrowded beach that stretches for 80 km to Bilene in the north. We are located amongst pristine tranquil bush surroundings, ideal for bird-watchers and those needing to recharge in peaceful surroundings. Our premises is at the front-as close to the beach you can get.There is excellent deep-sea fishing for those fishermen looking to hook and hopefully land the big one.You can buy fresh fish,calamari and prawns from the locals on the beach,as they drag nets daily.

Our shaded camp sites are only 250 m from the beach and offer electrical points, lighting, barbecue areas,ample shade and our shared ablution facilities has enough hot water,and is kept squiky clean. Our self-catering Chalets consist of two air-conditioned bedrooms, sleeping up to five people, with a bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen, and own barbecue area. The units are only 130m from the beach. The Safari Tent and Cabin each sleep up to five people in one air-conditioned, open-plan bedroom. The units are only 110m from the beach and have private bathroom and kitchen facility on the outside.

If you are a boat owner, we can launch your boat with a tractor. Day trips to the beautiful Inhaca and Portuguese Islands for snorkeling can be arranged, as well as fishing charters. Those with their own boats can take day trips to the islands for a lovely picnic, excellent seafood, scuba diving, snorkeling, or to simply walk around and enjoy what the islands have to offer. You can also do horse riding close by.

Boats, quads, and jet skis are all welcome at Esperanca do Mar.

We have a Scuba diving school in our camp, where you can get certified. Training is done in our swimming pool. There is a choice of restaurants nearby serving excellent seafood which is a must during your stay, or take a trip to Maputo and enjoy the vibrant city life and ample restaurants to choose from there.

We do have a sparkling swimming pool to cool down in and a bar that is open during season.

Please note that the last 200m of the road to our camp is very sandy, come with a 4x4 vehicle or at least a 2x4 SUV or "Bakkie" and deflate your tyres.

Macaneta is a fun place to be during season,with a lot of activities.

Ross Ramos Camp is situated on Inhaca Island in the southern region of Mozambique and will satisfy every tourist, whether you are looking for an adventurous holiday destination with activities such as deep-sea fishing and scuba diving, or a rustic environment where you can enjoy long walks on unspoilt beaches, snorkelling, hiking trips, and a visit to Portuguese Island.

Accommodation is offered in eight self-catering tents, each sleeping two guests, with lights, fans and a power point. Bedding is included and sufficient ablutions facilities are provided with plenty of hot and cold water, as well as flushing toilets. The kitchen is fully equipped with deep freezers, stoves, a microwave, water purifier, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery and all cooking utensils.

The camp is located within walking distance from the airport and village, and is in close proximity to at variety of restaurants and pubs that serve excellent seafood dishes.

Num-Num Lodge is a private lodge situated in the Nkumbe Wildlife Estate. The estate comprises 250 hectares of pristine bush located behind the primary dune, 5 km north of Ponta do Ouro and 1 km south of Ponta Malongane. It is enclosed by a game fence with a controlled entrance and gate house.

Accommodation comprises a central living area including a lounge, dining area and kitchen which leads onto a beautiful deck with an outdoor dining table and a sitting area. The house features two bedrooms with double beds and en-suite bathrooms, both equipped with ceiling fans. The furnishings are tasteful and the lodge is well-equipped for self-catering.

The estate offers mains electricity. The lodge is equipped with a gas hob with an electric oven, and water is supplied from boreholes.

Mammals on the estate include impala, zebra, nyala, common reedbuck, red duiker, vervet monkeys, samango monkeys, bush babies and genets.

The home comprises a kitchen, two bathrooms, a living area and sun deck with amazing sea views as well as a lovely barbecue area. The unit is equipped with a gas stove, electrical fridge, freezer, cutlery, crockery, and all basic cookware, as well as bedding. Mosquito nets are provided and the chalet is serviced daily. Casa Madeira is a fully-equipped self-catering accommodation facility situated in Southern Mozambique, 15 km from the Kosi Bay, South African border and 4 km north of Ponta Malongane.

It is located on a private stretch of beach within a dune forest with a wooden walkway onto the beach. The unit offers six en-suite bedrooms comprising three rooms with queen-size beds and three rooms with twin beds. Four additional pull-out beds with mattresses and linen are also available. All linen and bath towels are provided and the unit is serviced daily by a full-time maid.

The kitchen facilities include an upright fridge-freezer combo, microwave oven, electric kettle, five-plate gas hob and electric oven. There is a drinks cooler on the deck and a large chest freezer in the laundry which also includes a washing machine, tumble dryer, and ironing facilities. In addition to the open-plan kitchen and lounge area, the unit boasts an 81 square metre deck, with a super large al fresco dining table with benches that offer amazing sea views. Barbecue facilities include a portable stainless steel charcoal barbecue and a Weber which can be used on the open deck.

Ponto do Ouro, also known as Point of Gold, is the first of seven points between Kosi Bay and Santa Maria which was mostly abandoned during the recent civil war. This has now made a major come back in recent years with a number of buildings being renovated and many new buildings and developments. Diving and fishing are major attractions. Dolphin Encounters, a non-profit organisation that has researched Ponta's local 300 strong pod for the past 12 years offers "swimming with dolphins" and has its headquarters in Ponto do Ouro.

Basking on the tranquil shores of Lake Nhambavale, just 1,2 km from the beach, Nhambavale Lodge offers fully serviced and fully catered, airy Machop-style chalets, rondavels, and 12 spacious campsites. The restaurant and bar area is situated on the lake itself, and offers a menu of seafood, special local dishes, traditional favourites and our famous peri-peri chicken.

The rondavels, built in a local straw-roof style sleep two guests and have either en-suite or private bathroom facilities. The other four units are chalets and can sleep up to four guests in two rooms. The chalets are equipped with en-suite bathrooms as well as a fully fitted kitchen for self-catering. Lastly, the Casa Grande, our largest chalet, offers four double bedrooms, a dining area, and a kitchen with a fridge, cooker, cutlery and crockery. All the units are also equipped with mosquito nets for guests' convenience. The campsites, each accommodating up to eight people, are located in the spacious and trim garden area, complete with bricked barbecue areas, water taps, electric power points, and shady straw roof areas.

Whether you fish rock and surf, elegantly cast flies for the elusive kingfish, or take to deeper water in a ski-boat, the exciting Chidenguele coast has it all. For the rock and surf enthusiast, our waters are renowned for kingfish, stumpnose, pompano and bonefish. There are also a number of unbelievable deep water ledges to fish off where king mackerel, ignobilis kingfish and giant barracuda are frequently caught, while fly-fishers will find some of the best fly-fishing in Mozambique, off our beaches and rock ledges.

Other activities include snorkelling and spear-fishing, whale watching, swimming, bronzing on the beach, bird watching, and visiting the large swamplands. If you would rather stay on the lake, the lodge has canoes and kayaks for hire. There is also a beach-volleyball court on the mini lakeside beach. The bar area offers a variety of board games, books and darts, as well as a TV with satellite to watch the rugby, and for the kids, there are a variety of animals at the lodge.

Paradise View has a main gate for entry and exit, where small roads join all the houses and parking areas. All the houses are supplied with electricity and a water system. The position of the development gives the visitor the opportunity to enjoy the sparkling ocean, where you can scuba dive and fish, and the coral reef secures a safe launching site for ski boats.

Just a short drive north are other lodges with restaurants, where you can spend the day out. Paradise View is also one hour's drive from Bilene, a small town where the locals operate a market with curios, cashew nuts and clay pots.

Here you will find tropical, pristine, unspoilt beaches for 50 km. The beach is a short 200 metre walk away or a five-minute stroll to the beach for swimming, tanning, beach parties and to watch the local fisherman pull in their nets. Boats, jet skis, quad bikes and rubber ducks are welcome at Barco's De Macaneta Lodge, however no vehicles are allowed onto the beach.

Accommodation at Barco’s De Macaneta Lodge is offered in fully equipped self-catering units or in our shaded campsite. Our two Chalets as well as our Reed House each sleep up to four people comfortably, while our two Log Houses can accommodate six and eight people respectively. All of our self-catering units are fitted with fans, fridges and freezers, microwave ovens, pots, pans, plates, cutlery, linen, and towels. Electricity is available 24 hours, and most units have air-conditioned bedrooms. Each chalet also has its own barbecue area surrounded by natural bush for privacy.

Camping at Macaneta is offered in campsites with open kitchen facilities and optional power outlets that can be arranged when booking. For your convenience, we also have a sparkling pool at our thatched roof lapa as well as a bar and a restaurant with a basic menu, open only during school holidays.

Fresh fish and prawns can be bought from the local fishermen daily, and cold beer, cold drinks, ice and fresh bread is available on the island. Petrol and charcoal can be bought in Marracuene. Although there is fresh water available, it is advisable to bring enough of your own drinking water. There is a brand new shopping mall in Maputo which is also well worth a day trip.
