I love getting away for a short break. Magaliesburg is fantastic as it is a short drive from JHB and has many great B and B's and self catering places available for people to stay overnight. Hiking, fishing, or just chilling out and taking in the scenery are amongst the things you can do in the area.

I just love the Magaliesburg area. Going again next week to Jameson Cottages in Magalisburg. What so wonderful about booking via Safari is that you get immediate response. I have never came across a agent like Safari. Now.Com. After I did my payment, I immediately received my booking confirmation and a call from the Manager of Jameson... Wow!!!!! That is what I call excellent service
You guys are the best

Magaliesburg, Magaliesburg, we love you so much. Your beauty is in your own class. How many time's have i cycled your roads. How many time's have i enjoyed your breath taking beauty. You don't get the recognition you deserve. You must be protected at all cost's. I've visited you so many times and will never stop to dwell your grounds.

We went to stay at Matlapa Lodge in Magaliesburg for a weekend getaway. It was absolutely outstanding. Not were we only very impressed with the venue, but the whole of Magaliesburg in general is breath taking. This is definately an area that needs to be looked after and protected, to be kept natural and make sure the developers stay away. This will always be a holiday destination for me and my family.

The Magliesburg Mountain range offer a wide variety of accommodation to choose from. Whether you interested in nature walks, mountaineering, points of historical interest, Magliesburg can offer all of these and more. The Mount Grace resort and spa offers a more luxurious get away. The old hotel opposite the railway station in Maglies Town offers a lovely Sunday calvery. Regardless of your holiday needs, Magliesburg Mountain Range is able to satisfy all. Tired and in need of peace inside and out - try Magaliesburg!! It's near enough if you MUST go to the city and it's far enough to be quiet and in peace with yourself and nature. If your need is people, they're there - friendly, kind and helpful. If you need to be on your own - they are not in your way and respect your privacy at all times. Nature spoils you with the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets, mountains, valleys -whatever you need...go to Magalies!! that's the place to be.

Magalieseburg is a a wonder to behold. In our world of bustle and fast pace living it is a oasis for the soul!
From the mountains to the valleys to the rivers and the streams its is simply breathtaking.
Stooped in History of our forefathers, the Cradle of Mankind, you can almost hear the echo of those who came before us. Magaliesburg pulses with a heartbeat that is almost tangible!
Defininetly an experience to be revisited agian and again!

If you want some time out, peace and quietness, with your partner or family, then Magalies is the place for you. Then again if you want a funfilled moment with friends, for some games/lots of activities and some adventure, Magalies is the place for you. I was in Magalies for a full week this April with my partner, his brother and wife, and we had the time of our lives, with that said I have managed to score another weekend out in Magalies this September still with 15 friends....I must say we are looking forward to it, so they can tell more and more people that Magalies is just thee perfect place..And when you love taking pictures like I do, make sure you bring your camera battery charger and 8GB or more memory card..cause you will just be clicking away..LOL! Awesomeness!!

Magalies is just gorgeous! With green hills, birds and beautiful scenery everywhere you look, it is the ideal getaway for the city dweller. If the clean mountain air and clean streams don't take your breath away, the activities such as the canopy tours definitely will.
With interesting little restaurants and historical sites all around, you are sure to experience osmething else. I would recommend Magalies to anyone in need of a well deserved break!

If you're looking for a quiet, romantic getaway, or an affordable break with the family, Magaliesburg is your place. Tranquil picnic spots, adventurous hiking trails, and rock pools to swim in are just a few of many activities to do. And for those who wish to make it more than a memorable day trip, there're many camp sites and chalets that populate the area. It's always my go-to place that caters with whatever my reason to break away from the fast and active city life.

As a joburger, its quite easy to think that there's very little or no splendid sites close to the city that one can experience. We've all heard about the Magaliesburg, but I doubt that any one has bothered to see it for themselves. I am one those Joburgers that took the time to experience the Magaliesburg and I must say that it was a breathtaking experience, that revitalizes the body and mind. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone as a short getaway from the city

My partner and I often go to Magaliesberg for a little 'magic'. The place (whether it's a quaint breakfast somewhere, hiking in the mountains or staying at one of the guest houses) invokes a sense of peace and calm. It allows us to come back to Jozi ready to embrace the pace and challenge.
See you in a few weeks!

The magaliesburg mountain range is one of the oldest in the world, rich in diversity of culture and arts and History. Situated within one hour’s drive from Johannesburg, Pretoria, Rustenburg and Just over an hour from Potch.
Whether you are looking for a weekend away, a day visit, conference, wedding function, Magaliesburg offers it all. Magaliesburg proudly hosts the big five and for some pampering there are various spa options available. Take a balloon ride over the scenic country side, or get into that Micro light for added frill. Horse riding and quad biking also offered with in close proximity of all venues. Should you enjoy fishing this can be enjoyed in the Magalies River or at one of the Trout farms in the area. We offer Picnics for the romantic or if you just need some time out to relax.

You don't have to drive to the Limpopo to experience a beautiful, weekend away. It's right at your doorstep (when living in JHB or PTA). With untouched nature, beautiful views and as much activities as you can handle, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a weekend away.

Magaliesburg looked rundown, dirty and neglected. I was shocked to find it in that state as I travelled regularly to the Pilansberg when I lived in Gauteng 15 years ago and liked the neat little town.
