Description
The world's oyster hotspot just has to be Knysna After all, ten days dedicated to slurping indulgence, the swigging of ice-cold Heineken and sexy sensations pay tribute to a simple aphrodisiac shellfish called oyster.
Head to Knysna for The Best 10 Days of Your 2010!
This year’s Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival (July 2-11) will set out to prove that there’s more to 2010 than soccer, with a jam-packed programme of sports, adventure racing, great parties and plenty to occupy the whole family.
Not into slipping oysters down your gullet? Whether you're a
sports jock, pleasure seeker, adventurous or just plain hungry, Knysna
is the place to be in July. The long school holidays are a great opportunity to participate in the ten-day event this year, or just relax in the beautiful lagoon-side town and watch some soccer!
So pack your adventure racing gear, load your bikes, sharpen your appetite and head for Knysna to enjoy the country’s longest running sport and lifestyle festival. You’ll be able to indulge in oysters and bubbly while the kids are taken care of or get active with the whole family – there are over 100 events to choose from.
The ever popular Pick n Pay Weekend Argus Knysna Cycle Tour will be back as will the famous Pick n Pay Cape Times Knysna Forest Marathon. Don’t miss the Oyster Eating Competition and the Pick n Pay Oyster & Wine Mardi Gras presented by Tabasco – a fabulous evening of oysters and wine tasting.
Oyster Hotspots all over town will offer oysters in a variety of tastes and flavours at give-away prices. So go jolling with the Knysnarians this July!

Neighbouring Sedgefield and Plettenberg Bay are alternative options (but beware the drive back to your holiday spot when laden with white wine and mouth-watering molluscs).
