Description
Zanzibar International Airport, also known as Kisauni Airport, is the sole airport on the island of Unguja, often referred to simply as
Zanzibar. Along with
Pemba Island, Unguja forms the
Zanzibar Archipelago, part of Tanzania.
The airport is conveniently situated 6 km from the popular
UNESCO World Heritage Site of
Stone Town in
Zanzibar City. It provides a daily service to all major East African airports in
Kilimanjaro,
Nairobi,
Arusha,
Mombasa and
Dar es Salaam. A few European charter companies offer direct flights from Milan and Rome, as well as Frankfurt via Mombasa.
