iKapa pops the cork on its first township wine festival!
Do something different this August. Experience the launch of a unique event amongst one of the world's great wine capitals - the Mother City's first township wine festival. Join thousands of people at the Oliver Tambo Centre (just off the N2), to enjoy wine, food and good company. Over 90 local wineries are participating and a special feature is the pavilion featuring black wine producers. Amongst those expected to attend the iTownship Wine Festival are township tarverners, restauranteurs, diplomats, representatives of the Great Wine Capital’s of the World Global Network, corporates and their clients.
Interested in learning about opportunities in the wine industry? Head to the stand hosted by the Department of Agriculture providing information on both career and SME opportunities in the wine industry value chain. Don't miss the colourful Arts, Crafts and Jewellery Pavillion which will highlight the amazing talent of township artists. Looking for a township jol? You’ll find it in vibrant Khayalitsha! (Including the well known Mzoli’s). The iTownship Wine Festival will be ushered in by the iTownship Wine Tasting Trail – a wonderful initiative where selected township taverners and eateries will be matched with wineries to exhibit the wine making process, offer tastings and promote the festival.
