My partner and myself arrived while the owner/host was smoking and talking on his phone, very impersonal manner with which to greet a guest. However, we were lured inside by the pungent aroma and relaxed ambience. Eager to have a Mexican meal, I convinced my partner that we did not have to sit down and that we could order takeaways. The cook/assistant who was preparing the meal informed us she will start cooking in a sec as she had to visit the toilet. A rather impolite comment towards guests. Nevertheless, we had two tequilas while waiting for the takeaways. The only thing good about this restaurant was the cold tequila. When we arrived home five minutes later, we eagerly expected a great fresh meal. Well, well, what a surprise. The meal was very poorly presented and was a mass of veggies on smelly and stale nachos. The garnish that followed appeared not to be fresh at all. I was rather annoyed and very dissappointed. I was brave enough to indulge in my craving for Mexican food, my partner refused to eat it. I was ill for the next two days. A true waste of money and time. I regret ordering from Deez and can honestly advise people to take a good peek at the hygiene status as to where your meal will be prepared. I believe there are basic standards to follow. I wonder when last the health inspector paid a visit to Deez. Don't get me wrong, I am all for a cosy environment, yet the experiece or the meal that one takes home or get served should make one want to visit more often. Enough said.

What a cosy little gem! It has become our favourite spot in Hout Bay. Small, intimate restaurant with amazing Mexican grub. Well worth a visit.
