Description
If you are visiting Cape Town with kids then a stopover at the World of Birds is sure to be a big hit. This bird and wildlife sanctuary is home to over 3 000 birds in natural surroundings. Scrutinize some curious species in semi-tropical aviaries – it’s a very colourful and noisy experience!
Visitors are able to walk through the large aviaries and come into contact with flamingos, crowned and blue cranes, guinea fowl, tiny squirrel monkeys and even meerkats, hawks, owls and eagles. You can see them feeding their youngsters, socialising, singing, nest building or incubating eggs depending on the season.
The sanctuary is also a breeding centre for endangered species and cares for injured birds.
