Hoedspruit is a lovely town with lovely people. It's a bit far but the drive was well worth it.

The Hat and Creek is an amazing restaurant that saved our otherwise disastrous holiday, with the shocking experience at the Cheetah Inn. The Hat and Creek is way up there with the best of the best in Sandton and anywhere else in South Africa. The staff are friendly and efficient.

Hoedspruit is a truly great place to visit. Small as it is, it has everything - plenty of tourist attractions, very friendly people, lovely atmosphere and a casual, relaxed way of life. I love it and go there very often. And of course it has the weather, gorgeous hot days! The mountains, animals, everything.

this is a good holiday destination, with more a lot of holiday resorts surrounding Hoedspruit, you can never go wrong. it is however far to travel to Kruger National Park with the closest being Orpen Gate. Honestly this town is every body's holiday destination. -Sam, Tshepang and Sibongile Melato, Thomas and Nelly Motlung.

We enjoyed the area tremendously! Experienced shopping (commercial and curio). Wellbehaved and utterly friendly locals - they know how to "sell" their town as a tourist destination! Bravo! Echo caves, Sculpture Garden and the curio vendors at the Strydom tunnel is an ABSOLUTE must (if these type of activities appeal to you)! Hot and humid, but hey, it is January (the height of summer) in South Africa after-all! Kapama Lodge (5-star establisment) is truly fit for royalty!

Very good destination. Lot of good shops, restaurants and accommodation. Lot to do in the area. The Krugerpark gates are relatively far out. However, driving there is a pleasure. Great area to travel to.

we stayed nearby the Cheetah reserve and it is a real bush experience. A long drive from Joburg--but worth it.

What a wonderful experience... Friendly people, warm welcomes everywhere, and the shops is clean and neat, and a pleasure to be in it. We stayed for a few days at Campfire Safari, in the Balule Nature Reserve, where the atmosphere were warm and friendly, clean and tidy, and relaxing. I will make a point of it to recommend Campfire Safari's to my friends, as well as Hoedspruit. Herman & Jeannette Du Preez Phalaborwa

Hoedspruit is awesome, it is the only place where you dont need a jersey in wintertime, where you can sit outside winter or summer and wherever you are, hear how the Hieenas are calling, most nights you can listen to the lions as well, there is no sunrise anywhere, like in Hoedspruit, you havent seen a Sunset if you havent been in Hoedspruit it is awsome the best place in the world........

The scenery is lovely, bush, river and mountains. There are lovely eating places where you could just chill. There is enough to see in terms of game, Jessica the Hippo, Boabab Trees, Fruit Farms and many other activities and sights. One could just rest and be peaceful and take in all the bird life. I would go back to Hoedspruit, it had a good feel.

The town was neat and clean, with beautiful views of the majestic mountains, also the flowers alongside the road and in the town were spledid. There is a lot of very nice places to stay in and around Hoesspruit, the manner we stayed in was beautiful and beyond our expectations, also so close to the Kruger National Park was a plus.

A small bushveld village that has evolved into a Tourism Hub suppporting many wildlife lodges, tourists, holidaymakers and doing it with pride and style. Thereby creating jobs and opportunities for many in the area truly a bushveld town where one can easily settle down.

This was an absolute highlight for us. We had a simple chalet with our own swimming pool. Having come from Europe, the temperatures were very ideal for us. We even jumped into the swimming pool :)). We had a whole afternoon for trekking around the farm with Giraffes, Impalas and ohter game. It was a fantastic experience. Best of all were our hosts Sue and Barry. Lovely people we will keep in touch with.

We choose Hoedspruit as our holiday destination as it is ideally located. We always rent a house which allows us to do things in our own time at our own pace. It is also 45min away from Orpen Gate - and everytime we have been to the Kruger we have had fantastic sightings. It really is the best place to relax and spend time with your family.

We travel once or twice a year to South Africa and we like coming back to Hoedspruit. It's a fantastic place with a real bush feeling, not too big and with a Pick 'n Pay and Spar if you are staying on a self-catering basis.
