Last year I very sadly had to move to Johannesburg and left my home in Gillitts. One of the things we were sad to leave was the Heritage Market. We recently came back for a visit with our children and were so disappointed. We used to love browsing through all the little shops, however there is not much to see when surrounded by physiotherapists, dentists, computer shops, tattoo shops etc. Very sad to see that the 'Midlands Meander' feel has been replaced. We thought we would have Brunch at the Woodrose and were so sad to find it not there. We would have gladly had lunch at the replacement but could not find one vegetarian meal on the menu- not even a salad! What a disappointment! We are very sad to see that the Market is so commercial. It's more interesting to go to the Hillcrest Corner and coming from the town of shopping centres, that's saying something. We really missed enjoying our time at the Heritage Market.
