Description
Sleepy little Hermanus goes big! Grab your family or friends and venture to this arty and fun festival which claims to be the only Enviro-Arts Festival in South Africa.
Food, flirting & frolicking in the friendly bay The stars of the show are the great citizens of the deep who swim thousands of miles from Antarctica to flirt, frolic and procreate in the friendly bay. Joining them are thousands of visitors on their annual pilgrimage - foodies, party animals, arty farties, bunny huggers and anyone who simply loves a good time mixed up with a bit of spring madness and magic. Food is BIG at this festival, with chefs flying in from all over the country, gourmet competitions, a bounty of local seafood and restaurants pulling out all the stops. Afterwards you can work off those leviathan love handles by taking part in the world’s only Welcome Whales Wave and then get down to live music, comedy, cabaret and African rhythms after dark.
Need to know? Festinos can look forward to see Karen Zoid, The Bats and Cofield Mundi and a fantastic variety of local talented peformers. Surf to whalefestival.co.za for the full programme of entertainment.
