Wonderful discovery - Sandbaai is a small, quiet community between Onrus and Hermanus. It's just across from the gateway to the Hemel-en-Aarde wine route. Lots of lovely restaurants and shops just across the way. The beach is dog-friendly and uncrowded. Mostly families and children exploring all the rock pools. A fantastic place for a quiet family getaway.
Beautiful suburb with awesome beaches and walking trails - We loved Grotto beach and having dinner at Dutchies after spending an hour or two on the beach.
Heaven on earth - Absolutely beautiful...we walked along the concrete path and back...for about one and a half hours. Makes you realise what an awesome God we serve that He blesses us with such beauty.

Fantastic Whale Viewing - We enjoyed our stay in Hermanus, even though it was just for two days. The lovely walk along the promenade, it is well kept and clean, and there are many different restaurants to choose from. There is a lovely little wine shop that must be visited. The staff are well-informed and offer friendly service. The wine route is also exceptional with lovely and interesting varieties of wine for tasting.
Onrus - The place to be when you need to rest and get away from a busy city life.

Great beaches - I didn't know much about Hermanus prior to our one-night stopover. Now that I've been, I recommend at least two nights. It’s a lovely smallish town with great beaches like Grotto Beach and awesome views. A friend from London recommended we try the roti at Village Foods - it was absolutely delicious.
Weekend in Sandbaai - We were very happy in Sandbaai as it is a lot quieter than Hermanus. We found Hermanus very nice but extremely busy.
Recommended destination is Hermanus - I came for whale watching; unfortunately with all the excessive rain the Cape area received prior to my arrival the whales were not seen close to shore.
I will definitely want to return.

Neat - Very nice, quiet and neat place. I love it. See you soon Sandbaai!
Hermanus - Superb destination, breath taking sea vistas and of course the whales make it very special. Also, the whole town appears to be very well managed with good restaurants and is extremely clean.
A special place - Hermanus is a very special place to visit, not just for their famous Southern Right Whales, but also for their Blue Flag beaches, world famous Cliff Path, the many hiking paths in the Fernkloof Nature Reserve, and many more attractions.
My dream vacation place - This was our 13th visit to the Whale festival and we never get tired of being there. Everything you need when you want to escape the chaos of the city. Just peace and tranquility. I want to retire here.
Good location - Good location and not too far from Hermanus

Heaven is a place on earth - Hermanus is a little piece of Heaven and if it is peace and tranquility you're after, look no further! Awesome landscapes and the whales is an added bonus. Love Hermanus!
Stunning beaches - Awesome place for sunsets and birdlife and quiet getaway with small family.
The place to relax - Excellent places to enjoy some good food.
Quiet and peaceful - We didn't spend too much time in Sandbaai as we were only there for one night, but it was very relaxing, peaceful and quiet. The neighbourhood where we stayed also felt quite safe. The beach was mostly rocky with some sandy patches, but there's a lovely walkway along the beach which was nice to walk along in the early morning.
Views of vermont - Quiet, calm - lovely
Voelklip - The area is very quite and peaceful.
The place is located near all the important amenities.

Sandbaai - Nice and quiet and safe.
Hermanus as a holiday venue. - A fantastic holiday destination with very good shopping facilities and restaurants. Good sporting facilities including golf. You can sense the holiday atmosphere. It does however get very crowded during peak holiday periods.

Discover Vermont near Hermanus - Situated an easy 8-km drive from the bustling Hermanus, lies Vermont, a new and quiet area with beautiful homes, views, beach and walking trails. The pristine Brekfis Bay beach, Vermont Nature Reserve and hiking trails are a pleasure for nature lovers who at night can enjoy the bright stars visible over the area.
Vermont borders on a number of green belts created in an effort to maintain the inherent tranquillity and endemic fynbos and bird life in the area. Vermont serves mainly as a holiday village, its residents making their way here primarily during holiday seasons. The area is well known for the protected Milkwood trees which flourish here. A beautiful coastal path stretches from Onrus along the coastline and is known as the Vermont Trail, interspersed with tidal pools and ending at the sand dunes of Brekfis Bay, one of the most undisturbed and child-friendly beaches in the area.
The Vermont Nature Reserve offers a scenic two-hour walk along the coast from Brekfis Bay to Hawston harbour amongst pristine fields of fynbos – reminding one of the Namaqualand flower season – and is a paradise for bird watchers.
The Vermont Salt Pan, an ecologically sensitive seasonal body of water that teems with bird-life, plays host to a large population of flamingos that come here to breed - their pink wings and long legs against the backdrop of the mountain make a wonderfully scenic moment.

Charlotte Wood ~ Loving Hermanus - My husband and I spent an unforgettable 3 days celebrating our 22 wedding anniversary in Hermanus. This is the third time we've spent an anniversary there. So you can guess why we love Hermanus so much! We stayed at the Bamboo House bed and breakfast and dined two nights at La Pentola restaurant. The food is amazing and their service outstanding. This time of the year, being September, the whales and dolphins were all over the bay. The walks along the cliff paths is one to experience, along with the view of the mountains. It's absolutely breathtaking! I have family arriving March 2013 from the States and would definitely take them there!!
About Sandbaai - It's a nice place to visit, quiet and people are friendly. Nice environment.
Best Breakaway Holiday " Eastcliff" - My wife was pregnant and she needed a break before the big day and we decided to spend a weekend at Eastcliff and we were delighted with the cosy holiday house. We had a great breakaway weekend and we will be back with our daughter.
We had the pleasure of meeting new people inthe surrounding areas like Gansbaai and even bought some fresh fish to braai. Was our best weekend breakaway.
December 2011 - We really had a good time in Fisherhaven. Kind, friendly, helpful people. Will go there again any day.
family time of the special kind - we had an unforgettable two nights in Hermanus
experiencing the magnificent views and fun night life, the invigourating walks along the cliff paths... chasing the setting sun to get the perfect picture, and the waves breaking on the rocks below and showering us with a cloud of water, drenching us all from head to toe... what a blast ! our two adult daughters shared these times with us,will definitely go back for another visit soon, hopefully when the whales are in town !! two nights was not long enough. sandy pollastrini
Westcliff (Hermanus) - The place was nice and clean, no littering. The people were extra friendly and helpful about the town and best places to visit. It was truly tranquil for a holiday although leaving was to come too soon.
Review title...A Perfect stay. - Our stay at Eastcliff was wonderful. I would recommend Eastcliff and walking distance to the beach and the shops.
Amazing Hermanus - We spent just 2 days and one night in Hermanus, just after doing the 2012 Cape Argus Cycle ride and found Hermanus to be absolutely amazing. The seaviews and the beach were absolutely stunning and we cannot wait to be able to spend time there again for a longer period to be able to explore all that is on offer. We absolutely loved it, the central area is all within walking distance and there is a 'safe' feeling there.

Sandbaai - Sandbaai has lovely accommodation on offer and is just up the road from Hermanus, so you can enjoy the peace and quiet of Sandbaai or go not too far and have the hustle and bustle of Hermanus. We have been to Sandbaai a number of times and always enjoy our stay

Splendid sea an whale spume! - Hermanus, the place with vibe and view, friendly people and fabulous whale whatching. Fantastic food and festive feasts of wine and dine.
We stayed at Whale Rock estate with a breathtaking view of the wild ocean. We dined at Burgandy's and the Harbour Rock, and enjoyed lovely fish and beautiful deserts.
We would be back to enjoy all the wonderful elements of this creative and artistic town, we will visit again to experience the beauty where the mountain and the sea meet.
Wonderful mini-break! - My boyfriend and I had a wonderful midweek break in Voelklip. It is such a clean, well maintained, beautiful and scenic suburb. Our accomodation was just a short walk from the beach and we enjoyed the walks along the 'FernKloof Nature Reserve Cliff Paths'. Would definitely visit again!
A living memory - Hermanus with its breathtaking landscape views and little village like shopping centre , has always meant the world to me.
