Sky Lodge is a unique stone and thatch getaway in the Hartbeespoort Dam area. The lodge is located on 50 hectares of magnificent mountainside and offers majestic views of the Hartbeespoort Dam and surrounding Magaliesberg Mountains.

The Red Sky Lodge and Blue Sky Lodge are two large exclusive stone lodges on top of the hill with private pools. Lower down the valley we have the private Stone Lodge, as well as the romantic stone suites with spa baths which are suitable for couples, and two bedroom and two bathroom family cottages which are suitable for four guests each. Each unit has a well-equipped kitchen and is fully equipped for self-catering. The lodges and suites each have a patio deck area and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

Activities include hiking the gorge and surrounding mountains on the farm, mountain biking, paintball and archery.

Khayamanzi Guesthouse is located in the heart of the Magaliesberg region is less than 50 minutes driving from Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Experience the ultimate in relaxation and comfort at Khayamanzi Guesthouse. Accommodation comprises of ten spacious en-suite double rooms, each individually decorated in its own style, and boasts 100% pure cotton bedding linens. All of the rooms feature a queen bed except for three rooms that have king beds. Some rooms can be configured with twin beds. With separate entrances, in-room safes and back-to-base security, guests can be assured of a peaceful nights rest. All of the rooms at Khayamanzi feature DStv television, free coffee and tea, complimentary Wi-Fi internet access and fully stocked bar fridges.

We have one self-catering unit, which has a separate well-equipped kitchen, and separate living room. There are barbecue facilities for all rooms and plenty of secure on-site parking. Breakfast is inclusive, is served alfresco in the thatched lapa located in the landscaped garden, and overlooks the swimming pool and patio area. Stunning views of the Magaliesberg Mountains can be seen from the rooms and pool area. An airport transfer service is available to guests and the staff can arrange car hire and tours.

The Hartbeespoort Dam area offers incredible outdoor recreation such as abseiling, rock-climbing, hiking, picnicking, fishing and sailing at the dam. The lodge has a feeling of Bali in Africa. Set in a tropical garden Willinga Lodge offers guests a romantic getaway in 6 well-appointed private suites with luxury jacuzzi baths and ceramic wood fueled fireplaces.

Suites have coffee and tea making trays, CD players and a fridge as well as braai facilities on the terrace or at the lapa by the pool. The en suite bathrooms have jacuzzi baths and showers (some double and some outside). In the tropical garden we have a lovely saltwater rock pool as well as a cuddle jacuzzi under the trees.

The whole house can be rented on a long term self-catering basis, in which case, guests can also make use of three sleeper couches in the lounge area. In addition, a mini farmyard duck pond and water feature with ducks and chickens will keep the family entertained.

It is preferable for the whole house to be booked during the December and January period.

We have five Wendy-houses that can accommodate 16 people in total. Houtbosdorp strive to give you a bushveld experience and ensure you to enjoy every moment of it.

In addition to the wooden houses we have three tents sleep 12 people in total, one caravan sleep two people, two cabins sleep seven people, and one cabin sleep three people in total. The harshness of the bush will be softened with a clean bush camp to return to for relaxation, but don’t expect any luxuries.

It is ideal for private events such as bachelor’s parties, bachelorette’s parties and birthday parties.

Oori River Lodge overlooks a scenic stretch of the Crocodile River Valley. The extensive gardens blend into indigenous riverine bush with lawns sweeping to the river’s edge.

The lodge is in the heart of the Oori Nature Reserve and is fully game fenced. Leisurely walks can be taken in the extensive gardens and in the bushveld environment of the reserve itself. A wide range of bird life can be observed and there is always the chance of spotting the reserve’s varied game, which includes kudu, impala, blesbok, wildebeest and zebra as well as other small mammals and reptiles.

Oori River Lodge is just 5 km off the R512, the road that leads to Hartebeestpoort and it is close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the museum in the Cradle of Humankind. The Sterkfontein Caves and The Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve are also in the vicinity.

The Lodge is only half an hour from the hustle and bustle of Monte Casino and Fourways, one of Gauteng’s premier shopping centres. Lanseria Airport is a mere 15 minutes’ drive away. There are some very good restaurants in the area.

Champagne backpack picnics are available for overnight guests. They contain a selection of delicacies and a bottle of bubbly. Oori River Lodge is the perfect place to unwind and relax in tranquil and secluded surroundings.

La Montagne Guest Lodge is a 4 Star guest lodge that can accommodate up to 38 guests. The lodge is based on the south side of the dam, overlooking Peaconwood and the Magaliesburg mountain range.

The lodge has been designed to fit in with the natural surroundings and has been decorated with artifacts from all over Africa. On offer are eight luxury rooms, ten luxury tents and one honeymoon suite. All suites have luxury finishes and amenities, equipped with double beds and en-suite bathrooms. The tents have king-size beds, spa baths, DStv, air-conditioning and excellent views; a truly luxurious experience.

The guest house has a conference center and wedding venue which can seat up to 180 guests. After a long day, join us at the bar which hosts a good selection of red and white wine as well as spirits, beers and soft drinks. On colder evenings, guests are invited to relax next to the fireplace.

Nestled in the Cradle of Humankind, we are within 25 minutes of archaeological sites, a glass-making factory, art galleries, an elephant sanctuary, a cheese factory and many more areas of interest.

There are an abundance of country restaurants nearby, some of which have live entertainment. For the more franchise-inclined food lovers, there are steakhouses and fast food outlets within 15 minutes travelling distance. For the more adventurous there is hot air ballooning, rides in the cable car, river rafting and many more activities to choose from.

Hartbeespoort, also known as “Harties”, is a small resort town in the North West Province of South Africa. It is situated on the slopes of the Magaliesberg Mountain and on the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam. The resort is filled with quaint brick houses surrounding the large man-made dam. The small town is ideal for family day outings or a long-weekend holiday. There are enough adventure activities, restaurants and markets in the area to keep you entertained for days on end.

Hartbeespoort Dam is the main attraction and it is perfect for water sports activities such as canoeing, para-sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, tubing, and river rafting. The dam is sued for supplying irrigation water to the surrounding farmlands on which tobacco, wheat, lucerne, fruit and flowers are produced. Other exciting activities in the area include paragliding, hang-gliding, and hot air ballooning.

There is a lovely, well-marked 15 km mountain biking trail which crosses over a Jeep track and a cattle farm. The trail runs alongside the Hennops River and there is an entrance fee which allows visitors to enjoy the braai facilities and swimming pools. There is also a two-day hiking trail and an off-road 4x4 trail alongside the river.

The Hartbeespoort Dam Snake and Animal Park has live reptile shows, chimpanzees and a variety of cats, as well as a tea garden offering delicious light snacks. If you want to experience the majestic views of the Magaliesberg mountain range and the Hartbeespoort Dam with your loved ones, then the aerial cableway is sure to give you a thrill.

There are several golf courses in the area, craft markets and Jasmyn Farmstall which sells fresh vegetable produce, cheese, rusks, nuts, and other goodies to spark up your palate. There are also many restaurants to choose from, most of them with lovely views of the dam and mountain.
