Why not escape the gloomy urban jungle for a colourful Spring celebration? You deserve a break - head out into the stunningly beautiful countryside of the Magoebaskloof and get a fresh perspective. Samango monkeys clamber in the treetops, the birdlife is abundant and there's a wonderful walk to a sparkling waterfall through indigenous forest.

So, what's up in the Magoebaskloof this September? Apart from the vibrant spectacle of the blooming gardens and surrounding countryside, the atmospheric village of Haenertsburg puts on an exciting programme of happenings and displays. Magoebaskloof Hotel will host the Crafters’ Spring Fair which will be stocked with an impressive array of handiwork ranging from pewter work to basketwork, glass items from slumped glass to stained glass to beads from recycled glass, jewellery from traditional beadwork to modern silver; sensational clothing, ceramics, paintings, scrapbooking. Why not try your hand at the many craft demonstrations? You could make a glass bead, create a unique mosaic, play with paper clay - there's so much to choose from

The Food Hall will tickle the taste buds with wonderful jams, exotic pickles, olives, pastas and organic cheeses, fudge, shortbread and other culinary delights. The Wolkberg Orchid Society will put on its display of amazingly beautiful orchids on the front lawn of the Hotel. A local nursery will also produce an astonishing selection of plants for your garden. Cheerio Gardens will feature the beautiful flowering Japanese cherry trees, azaleas, crab apples and rhododendrons in a breathtaking display.
