Want to get really cosy this winter? Take your loved ones to Greyton for their Winter Warmth Festival. Simple, totally fresh, inspirational, 100% pure country & no additives!
Fire konkas will be lining the streets and you can buy the odd boerie or veg burger straight off the coals or marshmallows for the kids to roast. Horse-drawn carts will take festinos on a scenic drive around the historic village. Warm yourself up even more with a glass of gluhwein and a tour of the galleries on foot. Don't miss the famous Greyton Morning market at 10:00 on Saturday, and listen to the Genadendal Brass Band Ensemble blowing their hearts out. And the beats don't stop there... there's lots of music making. You can dance to a Reggae Band, listen to Johnny Blundel's Accoustic Blues Band with a glass of noble red in hand, fun opera in the famous old Moravian Church in Greyton, the Eccentric Sound Productions (ESP-Band) and much more.
The picturesque hamlet at the foot of the Riviersonderend Mountains keeps the tranquillity and throws in some unusual and entertaining activities – you can go on an art hop, watch a blacksmithing demo, go on a guided birding walk or find terrific booty at the morning market (I’m there!) If you want more action there’s the Kniekieshoogte Village to Village hike/run, horse riding, donkey rides, tractor rides, children's show and a whole lot more. On Sunday morning all 12 restaurants will be open for scrumptious breakfast, brunch or lunch. Celebrating its 151st Birthday, the Greyton Winter festival is certain to be something special this year so make sure you get Dad there!
