Description
Join the Mother City’s dazzling journey of the imagination
The 4th annual Cape Town Carnival ignites the Mother City on Saturday 16 March 2013 at the Fan Walk, Somerset Road, Green Point. This is one of those special days in the Mother City that excites and unites the community with a spectacular celebration showcasing art, music and dance. The Stadium Forecourt hosts band performances and stalls in the afternoon and then the Carnival parade kicks off at 19:00, culminating in a festive after party.
The Cape Town Carnival, although still in its relative infancy on the Cape Town events calendar, has taken the City by storm and over the past 3 years wowed South Africans and tourists with colourful costumes, fun, vibrancy, dance, floats and music that made it special and memorable.
The objectives of the Cape Town Carnival are multi-faceted: Celebrating diversity, promoting social harmonisation, economic development and tourism and facilitating training and development, particularly among the youth and broader community of Cape Town.
Venue: Fan Walk, Somerset Street, Green Point.
