I lived in Gonubie for 6 years and always enjoyed living there. The place has a calm atmosphere and there is nothing better than sitting on the boardwalk and watching the waves. All in all, it is a great place for a relaxing holiday.

I am a resident of East London but needed a place to stay as my house was being cleared of builders rubble so I am very familiar with Gonubie and the east coast resorts in particular. As a holiday destination it ranks among the best especially for its beutiful beaches, rivers and convenience at your doorstep.

Used to live there, what more can I say - an oasis in the Border region!

It is a nice place. I am female and I did travel alone and this place was nice and peaceful. The Lagoon is beautiful. I just did miss better and more Restaurants. If you are at the Beach you must visit the Heavenly Pancake House.

We spend one magical night in a luxury sea facing B&B called Amanda's in peaceful Gonubie. Perfect for weekend get-aways, long romantic walks on the beach and catching waves, Gonubie is only a 20 minute drive to East London and easily accessible by flight. This sleepy town offers beautiful and peaceful surroundings helping one forget about ones busy life.

Gonubie is a charm unto itself. On holiday, one can pretend you are in a village on the coast somewhere along the extremes of Africa, and switch off from the rest of the world. There is nothing like spending time on the beach, going for walks, or spending time gazing out to sea from the boardwalk. I spent time at a self-catering unit in the little village itself, and bar the snoring from my sleep induced neighbour, the sound of traffic and city life was nowhere to be heard. Sitting here in my office over a thousand kilometers away, I yearn for the smell of the ocean once more.

It,s great!So naturally beautifull,the beach and restaurants are wonderfull.It has a lovely family atmopshere,not over populated and can a have a really relaxing holiday there.It must be fantastic to be able to live there,has schools, good area and it own muicipality and plenty of shops.Doctorsand Dentists and a Medicross available too.What else do you need to live a Happy Life.

Perfectly located. It has all the elements of the sea, nature and river life. A unique town with it"s own character.

Gonubie is a nice and clean small town with friendly people. There is a charming neighbourhood restaurant that serves great food at good prices.

Ons het afgetree en besluit ons wil ons vestig by die kus. Het albaie rond gery en Gonubie was nog altyd vir ons baie rustig. Verlede jaar is n pragtige kleinkind gebore en die was ons besluit Gonubie hier kom ons. Die plekkie het regtig in ons harte gekruip., Ons vardeer die rustigheid , waar ons vandaan kom was alles n gejaag ,maarnou is ons tuis. Dankie vir so mooi plek en die voorreg om hier te kan bly. Gonubie is a superb spot for holiday makers, especially those with young families. The whole suburb is situated along the coast so everywhere is close to the sea. There is a spectacular grassed walkway along the sea front, perfect for sundowner strolls. The tranquil beach is manned daily by excellent lifeguards. The beach is long and the waves just right for small children. There is also plenty of surfing and body boarding to be done! The Gonubie River mouth is a super spot to launch boats and do a bit of swimming. Gonubie is also sought after for fishing!

Nice and relaxing.

I would rate Gonubie as an ideal destination for a family holiday. Everything you need is a stone's throw away. It is clean, hospitable and has the best beaches. Only one drawback; do not go near the beachfront on New Year's day, but with so many other wonderful beaches such as Glen Muir and Cintsa, this was not even an issue.

I never knew Gonubie was such a lovely place. Will definitely go there more often.

Gonubie is a lovely holiday destination for the family. It has a very safe river and beach for swimming. The village shops cater for most of your needs.

I enjoyed the fact that there wasn't much to see and do, so you really relaxed.
