Grab the family for a day out in timeless country style
Boschendal has been synonymous with the finest in country living for centuries – from its origins as a private estate of renown to its rebirth as one of the country's premier destinations for visitors; with wine, food and good living in plentiful supply.
Now Place de Boschendal continues this tradition of the finest hospitality. Place de Boschendal will be open on Saturdays from 10:00 – 17:00, turning the historic courtyard into a bustling farmer's market every weekend – in step with the time-honoured French way of life.
Place de Boschendal will be the place to taste and purchase the best, seasonal produce - with the emphasis on fruit and vegetables that are organic whenever possible, along with artisan bread, local cheeses, beautiful confectioneries, fine oils, spices and homemade preserves.
Just like in the old days, you'll be able to talk to the producers, learn about their goods and know that your purchases are fresh and absolutely delicious. You’ll be in for real, authentic treats, start by enjoying a steaming hot artisan coffee, while you enjoy a fresh baguette or croissant and then wander around the bustling stalls gathering yummy products like cured salmon, a selection of delicious local cheeses from the local Fromagerie, high quality meats or a number of other fabulous products. Afterwards, relax and enjoy a sumptuous picnic lunch with delectable Boschendal wines – what could make for a better weekend?
And it's for the whole family too – while the kids are entertained in a dedicated children’s area, you are free to engage in a time-honoured bout of boulle or croquet. The Place de Boschendal is truly a day out in timeless country style – the ideal way to enjoy your weekend – every one of them!
Open Saturday 10:00 – 17:00 at Boschendal Estate, Franshhoek.
