The Fever Tree Guest House is set on the edge of Hluhluwe in the heart of Zululand, in northern KwaZulu-Natal. This small town is situated between iSimangaliso Wetland Park and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve. Our name was inspired by the beautiful fever trees that are so much part of this area.

On this property, where everything that grows is either indigenous or edible, we offer a service that combines comfort and style with an ecological consciousness.

At The Fever Tree, we offer four creatively decorated rooms with beautifully fitted en-suite bathrooms. This guest house with the customary coffee and tea making facilities and an earthy-African ambience that will make your stay here close to perfect.

All rooms have remote controlled televisions with six television channels, including M-Net and selected DStv channels, ceiling fans, air-conditioning and towels are provided. Three rooms have private entrances and a small kitchenette. Guests have free use of the splash pool.

Our dining and reception room rooms opens on to the beautiful garden and swimming pool, while the lounge and other rooms have a view of the front garden. Birdlife is abundant, so bring along your binoculars and you could well be rewarded with some wonderful sightings.

Some of the cabins are equipped with braai areas and some of the cabins are offered on a bed and breakfast basis. Guests are able to select the best option for them. All of the cabins are equipped with guest amenities and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Guests can enjoy breakfasts and a-la-carte dinners in the restaurant and pub lunches are available throughout the day. There is a bar area with stunning sea view as well as satellite TV for major sporting events.

There are also Turtle Tours in season and off-road trips. Explore the wetlands with qualified guides or by yourself; the information you can get at the office is provided from experience. The Hluhluwe and Umfolozi Game Parks are approximately 60 km from St Lucia and Cape Vidal is only 32 km, making it an ideal stopover.

There are banks, grocery store, petrol station, post office, police station and doctors, as well as good quality restaurants. The weather is good most of the year and nature is always at its best. St Lucia is a small town that is big in adventure and will cater for any tourist.

We are a disabled friendly establishment with necessities such as handrails, wheelchair ramps and extra wide doors. We have two decks and one overlooks the swimming pool and the beautiful cycads planted towards the front of the guest house. Our other deck is private, although it is shared between three rooms and overlooks a section of bush adjoined to the St Lucia Wetland Area. Guests sitting on this deck have been lucky enough to see vervet monkeys, abundant bird life and even the occasional kudu or bushbuck.

Located conveniently opposite the golf course in a quiet area, the upmarket double-storey guest house offers you secure parking, a lovely landscaped garden and twelve rooms with en-suite bathrooms.

We have two luxury rooms with a shower and a bath, as well as five double rooms and five single rooms. All the rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV with DStv, air-conditioner, bar fridge, hairdryer, safe, a coffee station and Wi-Fi.
