The Self-catering lodge features seven spacious and stylish rooms fit for a king. Each room is equipped with luxurious beds, en-suite bathrooms, a fridge and tea and coffee-making facilities. There is a large well equipped communal Kitchen that has all the appliances and eating utensils so that guests just need to bring their own food or else visit one of the over a dozen restaurants/bars within a 1km radius of the Lodge. There is also a large sit-around braai area that’s serves as the perfect bonfire location after the meal is served, to better experience the bush life. The communal lounge with big screen TV is also the perfect place to spend the cold winter nights, with its warm fireplace and luxurious couches. Relax and unwind with a book or glass of red wine.

The large entertainment area features a deck with where one can watch the sun set or relax in the Jacuzzi on the upper deck with 270 degree views of the horizon.

The lodge has three lovely chalets, of which all have comfortable beds and private bathrooms. Each chalet also has an open-plan living area and a well-equipped kitchen for all of your self-catering needs.

Guests hoping to be closer to nature could also choose to stay in one of four tented houses. These offer the same facilities as the chalets and give the illusion of staying in a tent while still having all of the modern conveniences of a house.

Even though the lodge is secluded and offers privacy, it is within close proximity to the town of Potchefstroom. Guests can spend their days exploring the surrounding area by going walking or simply appreciating the abundance of birdlife.

After a day of discovery, return to the lodge to enjoy a refreshing dip in the lovely swimming pool. End the day off by having a delicious braai on the patio, before simply unwinding and experiencing the rugged beauty of this bushveld landscape.

Aeroden Lodge is situated on the eastern side of the Hartbeespoort Dam, surrounded by the majestic Magaliesberg Mountain range and just a short distance from the major towns of Gauteng, making it an ideal weekend getaway destination.

We offer nine en-suite rooms, with a choice of twin, double or king-size beds. Each room is equipped with coffee and tea-making facilities, a fridge, DStv and air-conditioning, and are situated next to the heated swimming pool in a lovely secluded garden area. We invite guests to bring their own picnic basket and use the communal barbecue area which is situated next to the outside lapa with plenty of seating. We also offer various self-catering units, each with a fully equipped kitchen and private barbecue facilities.

In addition, we have six large camping sites, each one separated with wooden poles for complete privacy. The sites have their own ablution facilities with a shower, toilet, and an outside tiled wash basin. The sites overlook the large swimming pool and water slide, making it easy to keep an eye on the children.

The lodge is well secured with a remote controlled gate and guard patrol at night, and features include a small heated swimming pool, a large cold swimming pool with a water slide and a fully stocked bar with big screen TV. The sun deck overlooks the swimming pool and we have a large lapa for shade in the hot afternoons. Mountain trails up the mountain provide a lovely view of the area and wild game can be seen, and there is also a lovely dam for catch and release fishing.

The area boasts several golf courses, including Pecanwood, Seasons, Sandy Lane, Magaliespark, Mooinooi and Brits, and we are just 5 km from Miracle Waters for any scuba divers. Hartbeespoort is a brilliant recreational area with an aquarium, zoo, snake park, animal sanctuaries, party boat charters, canopy tours, and lovely colourful craft markets. There are also many restaurants and pubs in the area including a floating restaurant on the dam.

The 7 km gravel road, on the way to the farm, will prepare you for the unspoilt beauty of nature; a way of clearing your head and ‘recharging your batteries’.

There are three rooms next to the river. It is possible to rent one room at a time, but the setting is ideal for a weekend away for family and friends. The focus is on quality time in nature. There is an open-plan cement veranda connecting the rooms. The veranda ends right on the Krokodil River and with the spectacular mountains all around you, you will be sure to enjoy your break away.

There is a communal get-together area, with a big fridge, kitchen sink, a cold bubble bath and a beautiful swimming pool. In addition, there is another cold shower and toilet. Braai facilities are also available.

We are nature lovers and want to give the opportunity to friends and family to escape from the city. The rooms will not be serviced while you are here, and if you forget something at home, you will have to go to town.

It is a rocky environment, so be sure to bring hiking shoes if you wish to go on a trail. There is plenty of bird life in the surrounding area including fish eagles, African grey hornbills, and a variety of kingfishers among others. Guests can also spot game, including giraffe, kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra and red hartebeest. The game is relatively tame and regularly come down to the waterhole, close to the swimming pool, to drink.
