Durban North - Great place, wish residents could acknowledge that their city is a holiday destination and be more friendly when asked for directions. So many bottle stores, loved it, spoiled for choice.
Bluff - The Bluff is a nice place with hills which helped us to train as well, we would love to stay at the Bluff again.

Great place! - Great place. Everything you need not too far away.
Peaceful surroundings. Loved every moment!
Clarice Heyneke South Africa
The Bluff - Very remote and dead, not a place we will look at next time, when we go back to Durban. The place varies from mansions which doesn't really make sense why people would build/design such houses and between "panttokkies", needing a paint job and a facelift.

Peaceful - This is an area of gardens and birds. Early morning brings the quacking of Egyptian geese, the song of the Olive Thrush, the conversation of the Black Eyed Bulbul, the call of the Purple Crested Lourie and many others, backed by the sea in the background. It is centrally situated, with the Virgin Active Health Club and tennis courts nearby.

Suburb of Durban City West
Kloof, the village in a city - Being at the top of Fields Hill, Kloof still enjoys the sub-tropical climate of Durban, but in summer it is a bit cooler and has less humidity than the city centre.
Kloof has a variety of restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops in and around the three shopping centres. The Kranskloof Gorge & Nature Reserve offer visitors the opportunity to take in some great views, do a nature trail, and see the local birdlife and flora.
A trip on the Umgeni Steam Railway's old steam train offers visitors a unique way the enjoy the Valley of a 1000 Hills. The train leaves from Kloof Station and meanders up to Inchanga on the first and last Sunday of the month.

Tranquil but central - La Lucia is very conveniently situated, yet offers tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.
The beach is nearby, there is a choice of restaurants and shops to visit and it is only a few minutes drive from main centres of Umhlanga and Durban.
The ideal place to holiday or relax after a hard day of business. Several internationally acclaimed golf courses surround La Lucia.

Gods piece of heaven "Umhlanga" - Umhlanga offers something for everyone. With magnificent beaches, hospitable pubs, exciting clubs and excellent restaurants and a state of the art hospital, Umhlanga is a prime holiday destination. It also has a stylish business centre. Durbans most sought after area - Durban North is an upmarket suburb very conveniently situated midway between Durban City and Umhlanga Rocks. It's a quick easy 10-minute drive from all the popular swimming beaches. Nearby are uShaka Marine World, Gateway Theatre of Shopping and Entertainment Centre, La Lucia Mall, both Suncoast and Sibaya Casinos, Durban International Convention Centre and all the main International sporting stadia. Great climate - Hillcrest enjoys a cooler climate than Durban being some 5 degrees less than that experienced below Fields Hill. There is not the discomfort of the humidity that one finds lower down. Four seasons are enjoyed with all the seasonal birds abounding as the seasons change from Winter to Spring before they migrate again during Autumn. Hillcrest is a mere 20 minutes from Hillcrest on either the N3 or the M13 motorways.

Rolling Hills - Hillcrest lives up to its name - Rolling hills was many panoramic views.
The suburb has all the known shopping facilities but one needs to search for them. The opening and closing times are very much in keeping with a 'small town' mentality i.e. don't rush, allow plenty of time and don't expect early opening times.
Filipe Nunes South Africa
My favourite - Quiet, safe, beautiful: The ideal getaway - close to everything, but secluded enough to enjoy a peaceful vacation.
Too good to be true. - Far too much noise from the taverns around the area and especially from the back and the taxis in the parking areas on the beach side. People sit and drink out in the open as well.
Umdloti Beach - Umdloti beach is a peaceful and still relatively quiet place. Very clean and safe. A perfect place to relax. It is not as busy as other beaches along the coast. Kids had lots of fun in the tidal pool. Perfect getaway.
Laura Dos Santos South Africa
Best location in Durban - Hire a car, go anywhere within minutes using the right highway! North Beach is the newest, cleanest, safest place and without taking away the holidays feeling. Compared to Umhalanga (unless its a business trip) it's better because of the proximity and constant view of the beach, area is very active with lots of activities! And uShaka marine, fun park, mini town, shopping, basically it has easy access to anywhere really easily for a family holidays I couldn't ask for more! The longest drive we had to do was going gateway nice mall worth the drive. Plenty halal eating places had fun eating out with all the choices!
Umhlanga really rock - Umhlanga is one of the best holiday destination for me. The malls are amazing (Gateway), the sites and recreation centres and of course the beach was magnificent. I also loved Moses Mabhida Stadium and the view from it.
