Clare Hills Suburb of Durban City North

Amazing holiday indeed - I would really want to thank the Akoo family for making myself and my partner feel so welcome. The place is absolutely clean and cozy. Everything was perfect and the owners were very friendly. Easy access to transport. We will refer Clare Hills to friends and family and would love to visit again in the future.

Westville Town of Durban City West

Convenient location - Westville is peaceful and engulfed by nature (trees). It is located nicely between Durban and Pinetown making it a convenient place when you have functions in either of the two places. A shopping mall (Pavillion) is easily accessible as well, for those who like shopping. A few spas are located in the area.

The Bluff Suburb of Durban City South

The Bluff - Very remote and dead, not a place we will look at next time, when we go back to Durban. The place varies from mansions which doesn't really make sense why people would build/design such houses and between "panttokkies", needing a paint job and a facelift.

Vacation at Umhlanga Rocks - Always loved it, and will always return! Anything for everyone, young to old! Lovely beach, walking and shopping. Trip to the Sharks Board most informative. NEVER swim in the sea early morning or at night, because then sharks are at their most active!

La Lucia Suburb of Umhlanga

Peaceful - This is an area of gardens and birds. Early morning brings the quacking of Egyptian geese, the song of the Olive Thrush, the conversation of the Black Eyed Bulbul, the call of the Purple Crested Lourie and many others, backed by the sea in the background. It is centrally situated, with the Virgin Active Health Club and tennis courts nearby.

Kloof Suburb of Durban City West

Kloof, the village in a city - Being at the top of Fields Hill, Kloof still enjoys the sub-tropical climate of Durban, but in summer it is a bit cooler and has less humidity than the city centre. Kloof has a variety of restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops in and around the three shopping centres. The Kranskloof Gorge & Nature Reserve offer visitors the opportunity to take in some great views, do a nature trail, and see the local birdlife and flora. A trip on the Umgeni Steam Railway's old steam train offers visitors a unique way the enjoy the Valley of a 1000 Hills. The train leaves from Kloof Station and meanders up to Inchanga on the first and last Sunday of the month.

Hillcrest Suburb of Durban City West

Great climate - Hillcrest enjoys a cooler climate than Durban being some 5 degrees less than that experienced below Fields Hill. There is not the discomfort of the humidity that one finds lower down. Four seasons are enjoyed with all the seasonal birds abounding as the seasons change from Winter to Spring before they migrate again during Autumn. Hillcrest is a mere 20 minutes from Hillcrest on either the N3 or the M13 motorways.

Hillcrest Suburb of Durban City West

Rolling Hills - Hillcrest lives up to its name - Rolling hills was many panoramic views. The suburb has all the known shopping facilities but one needs to search for them. The opening and closing times are very much in keeping with a 'small town' mentality i.e. don't rush, allow plenty of time and don't expect early opening times.
