The best happy and pink place to kiss 2008 goodbye is undoubtedly at the MASK New Year's Eve Dance Party in Cape Town's uber gay De Waterkant. Napier Street in front of the Loft Lounge will be partially closed off to create an ambient space with a huge bar, while dance floors featuring international DJs and the best that Cape Town has to offer will be inside the Loft Lounge and Saul’s.
Minneapolis based Red Richard will be the headliner DJ. Richard specialises in House, Funk, House & Progressive House and in his own words “handbag house when I’m feeling particularly gay.” Joining Red Richard will be Tony Morris, also from the United States, and Colin Jowell from Sydney, Australia. Some of Cape Town’s hottest dance disc jockeys, including Blaine, Leroy Taylor, Delon Palm, Charl Zero, Jamie, Chris Stock, Greed'd'Tech'd and Josh Borrill will also be spinning the latest, hottest dance tracks.
Need to know? Tickets are R200 if bought before the night and R250 at the door. VIP tickets are R450, and allow access to the Champagne Lounge in the Loft’s Top Bar, as well as free drinks and snacks. Tickets are available at the Loft Lounge.
