Check out a gnarly surf flick that takes the surf trip to a new dimension. Kicking off Wavescapes Film Festival 2008, Beneath the Surface will show on a giant screen at Clifton 4th Beach, the most beautiful cinema in the world. Pull in early with a picnic and blanket to enjoy the stunning sunset before the show. Beneath the Surface is a wave-blasted quest around the globe to eight countries with eight groups of professional surfers. En route in their search for perfect waves, they take in diverse cultures and experiences. View some great footage of epic waves on the East Coast of South Africa, including J-Bay and some cranking pointbreaks on the South Coast of KZN that will have you playing spot the spot with gusto. The flick stars Joel Tudor, Sam Hammer, Joe Curren, Nate Tyler, Greg and Rusty Long, Dodger Kremel and more.
Need to know? The Clifton beach screening is free and starts at 8:30pm on Friday 5th December. The screen is wind resistant but in case the southeaster is really pumping on Friday, Saturday 6 December is an alternative. You can win a surfboard there, with hundreds of hampers to be won!
