'Africa’s Grandest Gathering' to ignite the Mother City
This year's event promises to be as vibrant and smooth, multi-cultural and global as ever. The Mother City will celebrate the 13th explosion of jazz this March when the Cape Town International Jazz Festival brings loyal and new fans exhilarating world-class music.
The Cape Town International Jazz Festival's winning formula of bringing more than 40 African artists to perform over two days has earned it the status of being the most prestigious jazz event on the African continent. And it keeps getting bigger with attendance figures over the last 12 years swelling from 14 000 to 34 000. Melodytrip ranked this 'Proudly South African' event as Number 4 in the world, eclipsing events such as the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland and Switzerland's Montreaux Festival.
Tickets: R400 for a single day pass and R550 for a two-day weekend pass. As in previous years, an additional fee of R30 per act will be charged for concerts on the Rosies stage. Tickets are available at Computicket and Shoprite-Checkers stores.
