Your home is just a house until you HOME-it this spring by visiting the 17th annual Cape Homemakers Expo. The Expo, which takes place from 23 to 26 August 2012 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, will showcase the latest trends ranging from home improvement products to innovative décor ideas.
Cape Homemakers Expo is the largest and most comprehensive, multi award-winning home improvement and lifestyle expo and will provide you with all the resources you need to create your own personal style.
With 350 stands showcasing inspirational and trend setting new ideas, and with over 80 different product categories, you will be sure to find something to suit your taste. Not to be missed feature areas at the 2012 Cape Homemakers Expo include the décor and accessories area, the Audiovision Pavilion, d’VINE Life, the DIY Workshop, Future of Design, as well as an exciting project for all art enthusiasts and collectors, ClockArt.
Visitors will find a collection of contemporary and cutting edge style ideas in the décor and accessories area. This focused area will be presented for the fourth year in a row, offering the best advice on the latest colour palettes, designs and trends.
Now in its eighth year, the Audiovision Pavilion will again offer a substantial range of the most advanced, new generation digital home entertainment, sound distribution and digital imaging products. The Audiovision Pavilion has established itself as the not-to-be-missed event on the calendar, with brand new products and special deals forming the backbone of the exhibition.
Indulge in the good life at d'VINE Life, with a selection of the Cape’s finest wines, great cheeses, olives and other gourmet goodies. You can also watch the experts demo, build, revamp and pimp your home DIY style at the DIY WORKSHOP feature area.
The ever popular Future of Design, presented for the seventh year in a row, will celebrate the innovative Upcycled design by South Africa’s local leading talent. It is an even greener way of recycling – find a new purpose for your unwanted items before you chuck them away.
Another very exciting project at this year’s Cape HOMEMAKERS Expo is ClockArt. A variety of artists, including fine artists, designers, ceramicists, fashion designers and mosaic artists were invited to create a wall clock. Visitors are then invited to view and bid for these clocks which will be on display for the duration of the Expo. All funds raised will be donated to charity.
“One of the greatest benefits of the Expo is that it offers visitors the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of home related products, all under one roof,” says Sandy Edwards, Expo Manager: HOMEMAKERS Cape.
Entrance for adults is R60, pensioners pay R40 and children younger than 12 enter free of charge. The Expo will be open from 10:00 to 20:00 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and from 10:00 to 18:00 on Sunday.
