Claremont Burgers restaurant
Why write about a burger joint? It doesn't seem so odd if the burgers are more like a work of art than a meal.
3rd Hudsons are really onto a recipe for success. Great service, great portions and great fresh ingredients is at the order of the day. The best ground meats are selected and it is claimed to contain more than 20 % less fat than normal. The toppings are freshly made as well and include traditional favourites as well as more exciting options. Be sure to try the mint and jalapeno salsa, in itself an explosion of flavours. How does a perfectly cooked patty topped with tomato relish, biltong dust, chilli cream cheese and sliced battered jalapeno rings sound? Too good to be true? Not here.
The relaxed sense of humor on the menu is very refreshing and the Ba-rack-o-lama, or La Di Dah (with ostrich meat) are examples of this. For vegetarians they offer a delicious chick pea and lentil burger with fresh goat's cheese and avo.
This is a must-try and must-repeat experience.
V and A Waterfront Chinese restaurant
V and A Waterfront
A Fu Asian Take-Away brings a true Eastern flavour to the V & A Waterfront. This small outlet is owner-run and, as with most little gems like this, plenty of flavour and passion is put into the cuisine.
Enjoy traditional Chinese favourites like chow mein, chop suey, sweet and sour chicken, beef and pork or, as a lighter alternative, a delectable Chinese soup. For those with more adventurous taste buds, try the smoky chilli-beef noodles with peanuts.
The food is traditional, flavourful, and very affordable and if you are looking for a quick, hassle-free takeaway that does not lack in the quality department, be sure to give A Fu a try.
Durbanville Chinese restaurant
Housed inside an old Victorian house, dressed in basic almost retro décor, dishes are made to order, fresh and tasty with no added MSG – ever! The authentic flavours include spicy Schezuan choices and traditional favourites from the set menu.
Described by some as tantalizing, dishes are expertly prepared by a Beijing trained chef who favours attention to detail.
Cape Town Burgers restaurant
If you have ever wondered what real street food is, wonder no further. This little restaurant is located on arguably the busiest strip in Cape Town - Long Street.
Don't be fooled be the rustic (very rustic) interior. Just grab a high chair or a bench, order and await a new kind of delight. The Burger Shop, true to its name, offers mainly burgers, chips and stuff on rolls, but the portions are big and the nostalgia the street food evokes is something quite unique.
The dining process can become quite messy as it is 'illegal' to eat a burger with anything else than your hands, but this is part of the fun and colourful vibes that especially this part of Cape Town offers.
This is definitely not something to try if you prefer fine dining in a posh spot, but if you want a unique, proudly South African experience, pop in here.
Muizenberg Vegetarian restaurant
Located in the middle of Palmer Road in Muizenberg, Closer is a purely vegan restaurant and welcome addition to Muizenberg Village. Its fresh and artistic modern interiors speaks of their attitude towards their food, which uses only meat, egg, refined sugar and dairy free ingredients yet bursts with flavour.
Cow’s milk is replaced with oat, soya and rice milk, making Closer’s smoothies all the more delectable. Daily specials are written on a chalkboard, enticing customers in with their organic ingredients and interesting flavour combinations.

V and A Waterfront Burgers restaurant
V and A Waterfront
This fabulous burger joint is situated in the popular V & A Waterfront and delivers on location, ambience, service and most importantly, yummy food.
When you walk in the door you'll see the staff dressed in smart uniform surrounded by elegant, warm and upmarket decor. But this joint is far from pretentious. Gibsons definitely serves up some of the best burgers in town.
Although gourmet burgers with a wide variety of toppings are at the top of the list, the menu also offers ribs, steaks, chicken, fish and salad dishes.
Start off with tender calamari that literally melts in your mouth. Or try the messy, sticky pork ribs and Gibson's secret cream sauce that complements the sweet potato fries perfectly.
The meat they use for the burger patties is full of flavour and yo can taste that it is the best of the best cuts used. The Mr Chutney burger with cheddar, bacon and chutney is a must-try and, just to treat yourself more, have a bar-one milkshake made with real bar-one chocolate.
Informal, fun and comfort food with a modern twist is what this joint is all about.
For dessert, make it a real experience by teaming this with a Bar-One milkshake with real melted Bar-One chocolate!

Wash it down with a Lindt chocolate shake - you'd be hard-pressed to be more indulgent. The restaurant is licensed and you can select delicious Paul Cluver wines to complement your meal.
The food is original, the atmosphere bustling and the prices reasonable.
