Cape Town Contemporary restaurant
in
Cape Town Aptly named after one of Queen Victoria’s most loved pooches, Dash Restaurant and Bar exudes elegance and pedigree class. Always smooth and full of surprises and dashingly attractive.
The menu excites with unusual combinations that playfully blend effortlessly. Try the beetroot-cured salmon with horseradish apple slaw; a delicious sweet and savory mélange, or the Caesar salad layered with anchovy toast and quail eggs, smooth and rich.
Wash the palate with a selection of refreshing sorbets, including tomato granita with a drop of vodka, or rose, dressed with a sugared rose petal for utter decadence.
Mains warrants fat and juicy hazelnut-crusted scallops served on a bed of wilted baby fennel, while the grilled beef fillet with herb mash and spinach purée, dazzled in a rich Port jus, melts the palate of any carnivore.
Round off this decadent dining experience with a liquorice macaroon with tangerine jelly or coconut panna cotta with lime sorbet and passion fruit coulis.

Melkbosstrand Contemporary restaurant
in
Melkbosstrand This beautifully renovated building was originally a shed on De Melkbosch farm in the 1700's. The water from a fountain nearby used to form a dam next to the shed, hence the name 'Damhuis' (dam house). Where this dam once lay, the bustling Beach Road is now winding.
This restaurant offers seating inside and outside, but it is outside in the courtyard where you want to be, weather permitting. Beautiful, uninterrupted views of the beach and the vast Atlantic greet you as you start your day with one of the delicious breakfasts.
Try a small, medium or large English breakfast, a delicious omelette, a continental breakfast or even a 'slimmer's' breakfast. The dishes are all freshly prepared with lots of care and attention to detail.
Gorgeous tapas can also be enjoyed with a glass or three of wine on a laxzy sunny afternoon.
The menu is quite extensive and some of the starter dishes are mussels steamed in a white wine sauce served with freshly baked bread, tender tubes of calamari and peri peri chicken livers.
For a main, try one any one of the seafood, chicken or meat dishes. From the catch of the day and paprika prawns to a chicken curry and the 'Cock of all Chicken Pies'.
A range of succulent steaks, lamb dishes, proudly South African tripe and bobotie and even a humungous burger option leaves diners spoilt for choice.
