A rather small venue by general standards, the restaurant interior portrays a very rustic element. Expect seating on wooden boxes, biodegradable plates and cups, and brushed concrete walls with Bruce Lee posters for décor. But don't let this mislead you; every piece of the interior has been hand crafted by the owners, and the kitchen (which is easily visible from the tables) is state of the art.
The menu changes daily and food is made to order. The variety of dim sum is freshly made and tastefully arranged; simple and delicious. The home-made ice tea on offer is an excellent complement to the food.
Located at the top of Long Street, South China Dim Sum Bar is possibly one of the better places to get a quick meal while having a night out in town. Keep in mind bookings are essential, due to limited space and it's increasing popularity.

One could find a similar looking restaurant on an island in Greece. Spiro, the owner, is ever present, as is his wife Julie. Both are passionate about food, people and life.
There are al fresco dining areas on the patio in front of the restaurant and in the paved, enclosed courtyard. There are various dining rooms with tables and some have couches or divans and cushions for relaxing.
Additionally there is a room in the house set aside for children (complete with a range of dress-up costumes, art & crafts and numerous other activities and the latest movies). Children may also eat in this room on the table especially provided.

Even though their speciality is meat, meat and meat, the menu surprisingly offers quite a few options for vegetarians.
Squires is fully licensed and when you try the place, make sure to prepare for great food and great socializing. The restaurant has a smoking section and is wheelchair friendly. Squires is open from 12 pm until late and booking is advised.
