Strand - a good central place - Strand is a beautiful little beach town that is central to the wine routes, a few have to see towns. The beach is beautiful and the water isn't freezing. The only downside it is very windy there.

Do the Clarence Drive from Strand - Just around the corner is the start for the fantastic Clarence Drive (R44) towards Betty's Bay and Kleinmond. Enjoy the view over False Bay from the Mountain Road up to the Steenbras Dam. A must see and a perfect picnic spot high up in the sky.

Central convenience - Cape Town is always the best. We were close to everything. (A woman is at her happiest if she can go shopping without any hassles.)
Fish Hoek has everything - Fish Hoek is a quiet village with lots of retired folk, young surfers and middle-aged residents. You can enjoy the safe sandy beach, kayak or sail in the bay. Sit along Jager Walk and watch the whales. Have a great Indian dinner at Bihari on the main road or lunch at La Sal. Do your shopping at the remarkable department store AP Jones. Fish Hoek is a mix and match of everything.

Very central - We are not beach dwellers, but if so inclined there are
beaches within a 5-minute drive. I liked Bantry Bay because it's a residential enclave next to glitzy Clifton and the more crowded Sea Point. Our apartment, overlooking the ocean, was shielded from the winds because it was in the bay. Regent Street provides all the shopping needed for everyday living. We felt like residents and to us, that was a good thing.

Fabulous centrally located Green Point! - Green Point is situated between Table Bay, Signal Hill, Sea Point, Mouille Point, the V&A Waterfront and the City Centre. This little suburb is in the middle of all the local action, and has fast become one of the trendiest residential areas in Cape Town.

The best place to stay! - I LOVE Rondebosch! I have lived here for 61 years! As a destination for visitors, it is central to everything. 10 minutes drive from the airport, 10 minutes drive to the City Centre and about 20 minutes to the nearest beaches. Rondebosch also offers easy access to the starts of many hikes in Cape Town. There are some wonderful restaurants in Rondebosch and it's just the best place to be if you are visiting Cape Town!

Be charmed in quaint Gordon's Bay - Gordon's Bay is a quaint seaside village on the False Bay coast, set against an impressive mountain. Magnificent views over the ocean towards Table Mountain above Cape Town (looking like a "sleeping giant" from here) and the whole of the Cape Peninsula. There are two harbours with yachting and boat cruises, lots of restaurants of all kinds, shopping centres and two warm, safe swimming beaches (one a Blue Flag beach), ideal for children. Lots of water sports. The winelands and golf courses less than 20 km away. Cape Town 1/2 hour's drive. Central to all tourist attractions in the Cape. Come for a relaxing holiday and be charmed!

Bellville - city within a city - Bellville is a former city in the Western Cape province of South Africa; it is now part of the greater Cape Town metropolitan area. It falls within the area of the City of Cape Town municipality.
Originally called "12 Mile Post", since it is located 12 miles (20 km) from Cape Town city centre, it was originally founded as a railway station on the line from Cape Town to Stellenbosch and Strand. In 1861 it was renamed Bellville, after the surveyor general Charles Bell. The city is located in the northern suburbs of the greater Cape Town area. It is very central, situated close to the airport, various golf courses, wine routes and shopping complexes. The Karl Bremer Hospital functioned as the Academic Hospital for the University of Stellenbosch Medical School, but now the adjacent Tygerberg Hospital houses the medical school. The Cape Peninsula University of Technology and the University of the Western Cape are also situated in Bellville.
Situated in Bellville, the Tyger Valley shopping centre is a sprawling mall with a huge variety of shops, boutiques and recreational facilities. Opposite Tyger Valley lies the Willowbridge open air shopping centre, which features the Willowbridge Slow Market every Saturday. The High Street shopping complex is situated just off Durban Road. Adjacent to Durban Road lies Edward Street, a service road filled with popular nightclubs, bars and restaurants catering generally for nightlife entertainment. The Mayibuye Centre, which houses a collection of material from South Africa’s anti-apartheid struggle, is worth a visit because most of the collection pieces were originally banned.
The multi-purpose Bellville Velodrome is located in the Tyger Valley area of Bellville.
Opposite the Velodrome is Africa's first toboggan track, Cool Runnings. There is also the infamous Edward Street - More clubs, Discos and nightclubs in one street than New York (kidding). Majik Forest - Mountain bike track of note. We have a nature reserve which provides magnificent walks.
In May 2007, Meg Ryan and William H. Macy completed the last day of principal photography for their new movie, The Deal, at the Bellville Civic Centre.
In the local music scene Bellville has been nicknamed Bellville Rock City due to the number of popular bands that hail from the city, such as Fokofpolisiekar, Foto Na Dans, Jax Panik, Jack Parow, aKING and Die Heuwels Fantasties.
The novel 2 Dae in Mei (English: 2 Days in May) by Jaco Fouché takes place in Bellville.
Our climate is much more accommodating than that of Cape Town - much less wet / rain AND definitely less wind !
We are only 20 minutes from Cape Town International airport.
Bellville is a great place to be based for ANY reason!
Rich in History - When the first "Gardens" were laid out to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to the passing ships the farm house, "Welgemeend", which is in excellent condition, was built on the lower slopes of Table Mountain.
Central to the residential area is the "de Waal Park" a well maintained park with fountain, and hosts music concerts in the bandstand once a month in the summer!

Enjoy the beaches of West Beach, while having a peaceful walk, or get your adrenalin pumping through joining in on the Kitesurfing Phenomena that Blouberg is. Also known as Kite Beach. If you want to be awed by this place, 100's of Kite Surfers fill the waters with Table Mountain in the background in the one side and Robben Island the other. Lots of Restaurants and Bars, Malls and lots more sporting activities for you to do. This is a place with a chilled out vibe, relaxed people, and white sanded beaches that go on forever. West Beach is a upmarket area with beautiful houses, Guest Houses, Surf Houses and many Self Catering places. This is a holiday goer, travelers and sports enthusiasts destination.

Vibrant suburb - Claremont is a vibrant suburb of Cape Town. It has a wonderful mix of business, shopping and residential areas. The world-class Cavendish Shopping Centre has a variety of boutiques, restaurants, cinemas and grocery stores for travellers, tourists or residents.
Claremont has easy access to the M3 highway that takes one to the beautiful Constantia Wine Valley or False Bay beaches on one side or into the Cape Town City Centre with Table Mountain, Camps Bay and the V&A Waterfront on the other side. In fact, all tourist attractions are within easy reach of Claremont and are a short 15-20 minute drive away. Zonnebloem convenience - You cannot get closer to the City Centre without paying a fortune. Zonnebloem is in District Six and has most beautiful views of the harbour.
