The romantic dream of staying in a log cabin can be fulfilled when staying at Cosy Cabins. Two one-bedroom log cabins are nestled on the hillside in a pretty garden with sea views.

The cabins provide ideal holiday accommodation for small families, but are also frequently utilized for their convenience by people working on contract in the Port Shepstone area.

Both units are fully equipped with TVs, stoves, fridges, microwaves, kettles and toasters. There is commercial bouquet DStv available, but should you want the full DStv you are welcome to bring your own decoder. The garden is fully fenced and gated and an alarm system is installed in each unit. All bed linen is provided, but we request that you bring your own towels, toiletries and provisions.

This is a very peaceful area for nature lovers with wonderful bird life and monkeys who frequently come into the garden to steal from our fruit trees. Pets are welcome by request at an extra charge per animal.

When the world was still young, some 3500 million years ago, molten rock forced its way through the earth's crust and solidified to form the spectacular granite outcrops where Pretoriuskop Rest Camp is now nestled. The impressive granite dome known as “Shabeni Hill” is not far from the camp, which is found in the southwestern corner of the Kruger National Park. It is immediately apparent to any visitor that Pretoriuskop is unique as brilliant red trees adorn the camp, pre-dating the decision to make exclusive use of indigenous plants in laying out rest camp gardens. Nostalgia prompted an exception to the rule for Pretoriuskop, the Kruger National Park's oldest rest camp, and exotic flowering plants were allowed to stay, enhancing the strong sense of the past that is so pervasive.

Carpe Diem is a farm-style home, built in a local style with adobe brick, whitewash and a thatched roof. It comprises of five bedrooms; three double en-suite rooms, an extra room with a double-sleeper couch that is perfect for the kids and there is a large, separate cottage-style bedroom that leads onto the quaint and overgrown vineyard.

The layout of the house is around a central courtyard that includes a long, thin swimming pool and a covered braai area. The rickety outside furniture is the perfect spot to have a cold beer by the pool, while looking out over the little vineyard.

Please keep in mind that this is a holiday home and not a professional rental. This means, for instance, that the cosy kitchen is sparsely equipped and the outside furniture is rickety and brittle from the harsh McGregor sun, but it also means that you get incredible value when booking one of the largest houses in McGregor. All management of the house is done by the cleaning lady and local McGregor resident, Evie, who will also arrange to hand over keys and be on call should you have any issues.
