The road is suitable for sedan cars and is open to the public. Braai facilities are provided.

Ansteys Beach, unlike other Durban beaches, is very laid back and calm; a favorite among the locals. The sand is superb and even better is the great surf. On any given day you'll find a healthy amount of surfers, body boarders and kite surfers riding the waves. The water has some shallow spots which are perfect for swimmers. You can bathe in peace knowing this is shark-protected waters and there are life guards on duty. All of this makes Ansteys Beach worth a visit.

Picturesque Arniston Beach is typified by soft undulating sand dunes in stark contrast with dark jagged cliffs. This pretty area in the Overberg is a sought after destination for artists and photographers, and the entire fishing village is one of the country’s National Monuments. Local fishermen still live in the lime-washed and thatched cottages and go out to sea in traditional boats similar to what their forefathers used in the 19th Century. Dating back even further are the remains of ancient fish traps set by Khoisan strandlopers.

Home to the Baggies Surf Pro, Baggies Beach is a hot surf spot and playground of international surfer Frankie Oberholzer. The beach kiosk makes the best 'Surfer Special' sandwiches. Sometimes called Warner Beach, the long sandy beach is popular with locals who come to watch the kite surfers or the sun go down. In season lifesavers are on duty and it is one of the best places to hang out on the South Coast during summer holidays. Baggies Beach has a stunning natural tidal pool teeming with sea life. Bring your goggles and flippers and swim amongst the fish. During June and July residents and visitors flock to the beach to witness the phenomenal annual Sardine Run, considered one of the largest migrations on the planet. This major event on the diving calendar attracts numerous international photographers and documentary film-makers eager to capture images of the spectacle.

Banana Beach is situated on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. It is safe for swimming with lifeguards on duty during holiday season and on weekends, as well as being shark-net protected. You can also fish from the beach or the rocks and go snorkelling in the rock pools which are filled with exquisite sea life. The humpback whale is a seasonal visitor from June to November on this part of the coastline, and dolphins can be spotted throughout the year, especially from May to August.

Bazley Beach is situated approximately 70 km south of Durban. The warm Indian Ocean water is great for swimming, diving and fishing. Bazley is on the Fafa River mouth which offers a lagoon ideal for the kids to splash in and for the adults to enjoy canoeing and rafting. The beach is quiet most of the year except during school holidays.

The attractive beach at Beachview is situated on a section of Port Elizabeth’s coastline that is fantastic for long beach walks. Beachview is a good place for beachcombing and to start hiking to the next beach at Maitlands. Lifeguards are on duty during peak season but swimming is not safe due to strong rip currents and backwash.
