Top Gun aficionados and wannabee pilots shouldn’t miss visiting the Swartkop Air Force Museum at South Africa’s first air force base, AFS Swartkop.
Swartkop Air Force Museum is also host to air shows where visitors can watch a wide range of military and civilian aircraft take to the skies.
Aircraft on display include the Alouette II, C-47 Dakota, CL.13B Sabre Mk 6, D.H.87B Hornet Moth, Harvard, Mirage IIIBZ, Mirage IIICZ, P-51D Mustang, P166S Albatross, Provost T Mk 52, S-55C, SA-330L Puma, Shackleton MR.3 and a Spitfire Mk IXe.
Open daily from 10:00 – 15:00.
