Coffee Bay is a good destination. The beach is beautiful and the swimming safe. The village is an ordinary Transkei village, but the hotel is really great. They are in the process of upgrading, so it should be even better when next we go back.

Coffee Bay is a really beautiful area, we enjoyed visiting it a lot. It has definitely developed a strong party/hippie scene which is great if that's what you're into. We were told there were equally beautiful areas surrounding Coffee Bay that were much more calm and laid back, less party scene so if you're not up for the party life I'd recommend finding one of the surrounding areas.

The roads are very bad, signage very poor, Coffee Bay itself is very run down, Cottage@20 very good accommodation. Ocean View Hotel looks ideal spot for sundowmers and meals.

Its hot, its happening ! The place to visit - your perfect winter destination, still & stunning sunny days can be had on the beach. Breathtaking hikes on rugged coast line to hidden caves, the mystical Hole-in-the-Wall, rolling green hills filled with traditional huts, delightful children and animals dotting the hill paths. Deserted beaches with a tropical flair. Experience the rhythms of the drum beats that fill the air. Starlit splendour, real earth beneath your feet. Magical people, magical land, an unforgetable experience steeped with wonder - leaves you feeling ALIVE!

The scenery around Hole In The Wall is beautiful and the Hole In The Wall Hotel Restaurant serves a good meal. Coffee Bay itself does not have a good beach nor much to see around.

Coffee Bay as an area was a super disappointment. Our destination was miles apart from it although we thought we were going to visit Coffee Bay. The roads and road signs are in an appaling state and not assisting at all. The pathetic pothole road between the N2 and Coffee Bay - one of the worst I ever drove - en route to the Hole in The Wall, caused us to turn back the last day. As we became scared we might not have enough time to reach the airport in time. So we did not even see the reason we visited the area in the first place.

Road in such a bad state that it took 2h30 min to get there. Road to hole in the wall impossible to reach by car.
