A very warm welcome from Wendy greeted us on arrival at Halstead House. She was the perfect hostess - gave us excellent advice on places to go and eat, but Halstead House itself, even though the weather was not at the best, was an attraction to the children with a small but lovely swimming pool. So often "tastefully decorated" can mean "very twee" but the rooms were lovely - and - a relief to us - NOT full of little ornaments that you worry about your children breaking.
