Camp Amalinda
Only once in a while will you be able to travel with your family to a safari lodge so perfectly dedicated to accommodate children. The rocks and surrounds offer endless fascination to children between the ages of 5 to 25 years. Camp Amalinda, in the Matoba National Park, Zimbabwe, is in a malaria free zone, where water is safe to drink and there is no threat of dangerous animals.
Children spend their days chasing giant plated lizards, rainbow skinks, fishing and horse riding. The estate is game fenced and families can walk freely along game tracks, attempt rock climbing and exploring the numerous caves. Our friendly staff can teach which wild fruits can be picked and eaten around the lodge and how to survive in the wilds. And in the evenings, after a full day of fun and adventure, a children's menu is prepared and baby-sitters are available enabling you to relax in the upstairs bar for pre-dinner drinks. Buchan Estate
Buchan Estate in Hout Bay, Cape Town has a large jungle gym built into the 'redundant' horse's lunging ring, thus creating a giant sand pit as well as a large play area! A huge front lawn that is absolutely flat and great for playing ball with our spaniel or football with Dad. The river and pool are securely fenced and a great babysitting service is offered. Evening meals can be provided in your own cottage, so after a long day's sight-seeing with the kids you don't even need to go out to taste local specialities!
