Friendly people. Wine cellars not far apart from each other. Enjoyed all the restaurants in town. Food was good. Enjoyed all the tourist attractions in and around town.

Beautiful vegetation in a surrounding desert. We were advised by our host to hear the daily organ concert in the Dutch Reformed Church. It is a friendly town.

Calitzdorp is the port wine capital and a drive through village. The Handelshuis is top of list of places to visit for eat/drink, otherwise the country side with the gravel roads certainly can be recommended.

We met a very helpful woman at the information centre, who was willing to go the extra mile to help us trace old family graves. Lorenzo's was excellent for pizzas with super-thin bases and fresh ciabata and farm bread. Even though we are not regular port consumers, we bought a bottle and it was great!
