The lagoon by the ocean

Wow! Bilene is amazing. I would not venture any further north of Maputo ever again. It has everything you could possibly need or want and then some. Add it to your holiday destinations.

Bilene village is a typical African village. They sell typical African craft. Provisions are limited. Access to the village from Jedi Bay is limited to a short jet ski or boat ride, or a very long roundabout 4x4 drive. The nearest town to get more suitable provisons is Marcia, some 35 km away. However, the drive there takes over 90 minutes from Jedi Bay. Go prepared to Jedi Bay with all your required provisions which you should get from Marcia on your way in.

A wonderful place to stay and the locals are friendly. We felt safe and had an amazing time. Definitely going back in the near future, one of the better places to stay in Mozambique.

It has a fantastic lagoon, for swimming and water sports, with a nice beach, lots of road side shops, a new bakery and butchery. Not as busy as the other places.

Beautiful beaches suitable for swimming, surfing and all water fun sports. Beware of locals who might rip you off to use their boats to cross the lagoon. Have information also on the exchange rate cause some may rob you, ask first and get a good rate.
