Assagay

Assagay, Shongweni, Hillcrest all border each other. Assagay is inbetween Hillcrest and Shongweni and the boundaries are not clear. Shongweni Show Grounds are actually in Assegay. Horse shows are held throughout the year. The Hillcrest Rugby Club now also share the grounds. Friday nights live music in the pub makes for a merry evening with really good reasonably priced food. The Shongweni Farmers market is opposite the new Hillcrest Private Hospital, also in Assegay. People stream in from all over, as it is one of a kind. Here you will find Crafts, plants, yummie food and coffee, paintings, home made furniture out of beautiful woods, etc.. Enjoy breakfast under the marquet. Giba Gorge is where the popular Giba Gorge Mountain Bike Park is. This venue offers mountain biking through beautiful terrain.
