Askham

We wanted to go to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Before setting off on our tour of South Africa from here in Manila, we studied the geography of the area and from maps, we concluded that Askham is an excellent location between the Park and the Orange River. Many locals we came across prior to arrival in Askham were not so positive about the place. We took the contrarian attitude and were proven right. While it is true that the people make the place, in this case all of the people we came across were so very much alive from receiving us, talking about the area and the concerns of South Africa as a country did not represent a sleepy town at all. Incredible experience we had and many thanks to the locals. From whichever direction you are going to or coming from, Askham is not only a geographical crossroad but also a cross between the wilderness and the hassle of bigger towns.
