Bush Camp Chalet
The luxury Bush Camp is situated at the edge of a wilderness area, 3 km from Main Camp. The camp comprises eight thatched African-style chalets, three luxury en-suite tents, a lapa in the form of the indigenous "camelthorn" pod, and a secluded swimming pool. Each chalet is equipped with a queen-size and a three-quarter bed, a minibar, a private safe for valuables, a kettle for that early morning cup of tea or coffee, and a telephone. For those who wish to feel the closeness of nature, the front 180-degree of canvas panelling may be rolled up, inviting visitors to enjoy their own bushveld vista. The extensive "camelthorn" shaped lapa encompasses the reception area and curio shop, a cosy lounge with a rustic indoor fireplace, an outdoor fireplace, and a kitchen and dining area, all overlooking a waterhole.
Okonjima's luxury Bush Suite is located 500 m from Bush Camp and 3.5 km from Main Camp. This select, private suite is a uniquely designed, African bush cottage. The suite features two separate, private en-suite bedrooms under a magnificent thatched roof, which together can accommodate a family or small group of four. It consists of a modern, chef-designed kitchenette, with wine and soft drink coolers, both gas and electrical cooking facilities and an endless supply of ice from a double-door refrigerator. The living space boasts a spacious lounge, a dining area inside or outside under natural shade and an open, wood-burning fireplace. The bedrooms have high roofs with fans, air-conditioning and when needed, heating facilities. The suite features two queen-size beds, one of which can be wheeled outside onto the terraces for a night under the stars. Each bathroom has both an indoor shower and a spectacular outdoor bush shower, together with a beautiful, Colonial bath-with-a-view. Toilets and bidets accompany the baths, all with a bush view, and each bedroom has a Wi-Fi or dial-up Internet connection as well as ample work space.
There are two exclusive sites. The facilities include two open-air showers with hot water, two flush toilets, washing-up area, sundowner view point, fire wood, swimming pool shared by campsites and electricity. The rate includes an activity. Child rates are supplied on request.
Garden Rooms at Main Camp
These are standard en-suite rooms situated around a lush garden. The facilities include double and single beds, roof fans and a secluded swimming pool. No children under 12 years allowed.
Main Camp Double En-suite Room
Main Camp was the original Hanssen family farmhouse, reconstructed as a lodge in 1993. All of the 10 double rooms are situated around a lush garden and overlook the open-fire entertainment area. The spacious new en-suite bedrooms each include two double beds, a mini-fridge to store your own drinks, a roof fan, safe, alarm system and telephone.
The Villa features two separate private suites, with two select en-suite bedrooms in the Main House, which together can accommodate groups of up to eight adults and four children. The graceful Main House consists of a chef-designed kitchen with wine and soft drink coolers, both gas and electrical cooking facilities, and an endless supply of ice from a double-door refrigerator. The living spaces are punctuated by a spacious lounge and dining area with an open wood-burning fireplace. There are two luxury en-suite bedrooms and the bathrooms have both an indoor shower and a spectacular outdoor bush shower, together with a beautiful bath-with-a-view. The Villa also boasts a magnificent infinity pool, surrounded on three sides by African red teak decking and a walkway to an open shaded "sala", incorporating a roof fan to stir the gentle breeze that crosses the adjoining waterhole. The two separate thatched suites are situated approximately 35 m to 50 m on either side of the Main House, and guests once again have the choice of either an indoor or a unique outdoor bush shower. Toilets and bidets accompany the baths, all with bush views. Fittingly, three of the four bedrooms have magnificent wheeled king-size beds for rolling out onto the terraces to sleep under the stars. All the bedrooms offer air-conditioning, high airy roofs with fans, heating facilities, Wi-Fi or dial-up Internet connection and ample work space.
