Zanzibar meets Mexico in the cleverly designed stone and thatch chalet rooms which stay cool year-round but are still full of air and light. The spacious en-suite rooms offer privacy and security and are ideal for families and small groups of friends travelling together. Each chalet also has a kitchen for guests who prefer to cook for themselves.
Sleeps 3
We offer six luxury en-suite safari tents pitched permanently on the banks of the Luangwa. These made-to-order tents feature a thatched roof for extra shade, en-suite facilities with hot shower, flush toilet and basin with a canvas half roof over the bathroom, full-sized beds with mosquito nets, and all bedding and towels are provided. The tents are equipped with electric lights, a fan and charging point for camera batteries and look straight onto the river.
Sleeps 2
We offer six standard en-suite safari tents which are slightly smaller than the luxury tents. The walk-in tents are pitched in private bush settings and each feature an en-suite bathroom with open-air shower, toilet and basin. The standard tents are not located on the river bank; they rather take advantage of shady trees while two of the tents look directly onto a waterhole which attracts elephant, bushbuck and giraffe. The standard tents are equipped with full beds, electric lights, a fan, and charging point for batteries. There is also a small stone verandah for enjoying the views. The standard tents do not have extra mosquito nets as they are fully gauzed on all windows and doors.
Set in a private area away from the rest of camp, the Jackalberry Tree House is a special treat indeed. The house is made up of three joined platforms built around three mature trees. The tree house features two en-suite bedrooms with an open sitting and dining deck between them. The bedroom platforms have romantic and rustic four poster beds; one queen-size and one king-size bed which can be split into two twin beds; open front walls and uninterrupted views. Each bedroom has an open air bathroom platform down a short flight of steps with hot shower, flush toilets and basin. A large sofa, armchairs and throw cushions are spread out on the middle deck for relaxing during the heat of the day and watching the game wandering past. There is also a dining table and chairs should guests prefer to dine alone at the house or for writing postcards or playing cards. A fridge and honesty bar is provided in the tree house as well as tea and coffee-making facilities. A hand-held radio is also provided, which guests can use to call for a vehicle to bring them to the restaurant or bar, or in case there is a problem of any kind. The tree house is on mains electricity and has three-pin square plug sockets for re-charging cameras or laptops.
