McGregor Apricot Carnival

Where McGregor
When 2008/11/29 to 2008/11/30

Go absolutely apricot, it’s carnival time, folks!
Grab your family and friends and pack your party shoes to join the merry throng of street performers led by Miss Apricot and Mr Pip to celebrate the apricot harvest in the quaint little town of McGregor.

It's the good life in the Karoo.
Celebrating Mother Earth’s bounty comes naturally in the attractive little Karoo dorp of McGregor. The well-preserved Victorian Karoo village has drawn artists and spiritual seekers alike who endeavour to enjoy the good life and maintain the town’s character. Join the magical McGregor folk when they put on their party shoes as the Carnival parade heads down the main street to rousing music from its renowned brass band.

Sample yummy food from stalls filled with tempting country bakes and fresh produce as well as amazing art and crafts. The velvety apricot will shine in every imaginable way - tart or shweet, fresh or dried, preserved and canned, juiced or spiked and filling dozens of mouth watering treats to gobble on the spot or to take home as Christmas gifts made with love and country care.

Crave the big outdoors? Take to the hills on your mountain bike or don your hiking books and tramp one of many trails. You could even go on a tour of the historic village. Why don't you take a weekend break and savour the peacefulness and 'champagne air' of this rustic village?
