Curtains Up for Durban's 29th International Film Festival
South Africa’s largest and longest standing film festival is bound to roll off the screens in Durban from 23 July to 03 August 2008. Regarded as one of the top film festivals on the African continent, the 29th Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) presents a selection of the best in cinema from South Africa, Africa and around the world, most of which are premiere showings in this country.
The festival called for entries from around the globe in the categories of feature films, short films and documentaries. Over 300 screenings will be showcased, including numerous award-winners. The festival also offers a seminar and workshop programme featuring local and international filmmakers. The line-up of cutting edge feature films is supplemented by a prime selection of topical documentaries and short films.
